I go online sometimes, but everyone's spelling is really bad. It's... depressing.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I did take a long lunch today so I should theoretically stay late this evening, but I really don't feel like it. Meh. I stay late often enough with no comp time.

See, I feel like I could turn yours around into an accomplishment pretty easily, Connie. I'm guessing you've increasingly become the go-to tech support person for the really hard (most desperate) customers?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh lisah, I feel you on that one! I just had to revise my merit review letter.

and it's so hard as an adult to just stand back and let them figure their way through it and out.

Yeah sigh. Plus the whole thing where I'm supposed to socialize him. He still tries to eat rice with his hands. What gives, kid? I taught you about forks when you were in preschool!

Huh. I actually have, to my dismay. If the IMs from supervisors saying "please please please take this customer and fix it, you're the only one I trust with this" count. I hadn't thought of it that way.

Should I be getting screencaps of those IMs for posterity?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

lisah, you want us to make your stuff into accomplishments? Also, you don't need a summary on your resume.

So, someone I know just posted on Facebook that her (Long-Island-raised) son got dinged on a school assignment (in Arkansas) for saying "meant" and "mint" are not homophones. Regional accents strike again!

Classic! I've probably told the story here of how my uncle got put into special ed when they moved from Rhode Island to greater Philadelphia, right?

YES!

Also, you don't need a summary on your resume.

Really? My job coach friend thinks I should (even if it is basically a short version of what I'd be saying in a cover letter) and Ask A Manager seems to agree. Evidently it helps the hiring manager focus. I'm torn about it.

Really, could you make something of this?

• Led analysis of federal government policies and translated these policies into requirements for high-profile health quality incentive and health data collection systems for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

I also need to figure out how to say that the requirements work I did on my project helped us get another contractor fired and us hired to do that work, without it being too bitchy.

A resume sent out is better than waiting until you have the perfect summary, is my opinion. (I do have a summary, but a job coach told me to do it, and I think I'm going to cut it next time. It is kind of inspirational, tho!)

What did the work result in?

Won contract??

There's an elementary-school-aged EpicTangent in my head raging on that kid's behalf. Tell me his mom protested?
