Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

OMG co-workers. Just stop. My Nemesis and Flakey New Co-worker both. Argh.

In other news, I joined a community chorus last night. This will be good for my brain, because it turns out singing parts is hard. Who knew? Specially hard if, like me, one does not read music...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Have fun, Strix!

That sounds nice, Sox. Welcome home.

Good luck, lisah! Cover letters are hard, but you can do it!

I just took my lunch time meds and was honestly surprised that I am still on Tuesday in my pillbox. Surely we are at least four days into this week by now.

Got myself a haircut and a milkshake on my break, yay!

Oh, exciting, Consuela!

ETA the chorus, not the co-workers.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Me at end of day yesterday: boss, you are going to need to call x or y for help on that thing tomorrow.

Me in email to boss today: you need to call x or y for help on that thing.

An hour later

Lady from x & y's office in email to me cc boss: you need to have your boss fix these things he did yesterday so you can do your part.

Me: yes, I know. He needs to call you for help.

Boss: I couldn't do anything when I was in there yesterday.

Me: yes boss, you somehow did do something. It needs to get reversed now. Call them for help.

Lady: sends screenshot - yes you see right here "blah blah stuff boss does not understand OR BE WOULD NOT HAVE MADE THE MISTAKE"

Boss: I never saw that screen, I have no idea what you are talking about.

I'm actually pretty stoked. We're doing some really interesting stuff, although most of it is too complicated me. I will be relying on the internet tools they supply to learn my parts...

More of the communication skills in our office:

Boss: build a po for this amount for this company

Me: where do I charge it?

Boss: unsure, let me get back to you.

I get an email from a coworker with no text just a screenshot of an old PO.

Me to coworker: is this regarding the po boss told me to build?

Coworker: yeah it was kinda the same thing, so copy that, it should work.

Me to boss: I attempted to build the po you asked, using the example coworker sent me. However, the example he sent me was billed to a work order specific for that job, rather than a cost center. Is that what you want for this? If so, where would I find that work order #?

Boss: yes, I wanted it to be on a work order.

Me: ok, I can do that, do you have the work order # or the information I would need to look it up.

Boss: make it for unknown.

Me: the template you directed me to use does not allow for the po to be built with an unknown work order. I will look for an alternative template.

Me bangs head on wall. The only info I have for this po is the vendor and the amount, no info on work being done or scope. WHY?!?!?!??

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Specially hard if, like me, one does not read music...

Singing in a chorus is the best way to learn.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Or learn how to fake it! My ear is good enough that I pick things up as fast as anyone, but I definitely cannot sight-sing. I took a class once that got me pretty close, but that was years ago.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

msbelle, does your boss always act like a little boy? Oh wait, I know the answer already, don't I?

In me-and-mine news, Cody and Isaac are off to Astrocamp tomorrow for a 3 day field trip. Exciting! For them I mean. Isaac is deep in one of those phases where everything is a huge struggle and he gets really upset easily. But in my experience those phases seem to be some sort of developmental thing from him. They are always followed by a big spurt in maturity.

Well, there's a difference between being able to read music in the middle of a chorus with accompaniment and being able to sight-sing cold. Our reauditions now include an a capella sight-reading section, and it's not fun.
