After my Dad died, my Mom and I spent Christmas visiting a friend in Florida drinking margaritas and walking on the beach - as far away as possible from typical Christmases. It was wonderful to not be stepping on old memories.

Walked to End Alzheimer's this morning, which was great! It was just me, my mom, and our neighbors, which was kind of perfect. I keep thinking I should work harder to build up a team, but a small group is really nice. We also milked our VIP status for all it's worth!
Nice, Jesse!
I had planned to try making Hollandaise sauce this morning and have Eggs Benedict for breakfast, but I woke up really wanting a cheese sandwich. Maybe lunch will be more ambitious.
Timelies all!
The little guy was very fussy last night. Every few hours he'd start screaming. Up until last night he had been sleeping 6-7 hours from the last feeding(usually around 8 pm) to the next one. Not so much last night. I hope this was just a one-time thing.
Aw, poor kid. And parents.
-t, you have to watch all of the Saints game from home this season.
So much for quiet mornings! Isaac woke up right after I posted, so no grading today so far. But we read Robin Hood together, so that more than made up for it.
I hear you, Dana. If I have to, I have to.
The Food Lab is too big to fit in my cookbook stand. This is my only complaint about it thus far. (Also, Foolproof Hollandaise sauce came out well for me. I am noticing a pattern)
This has been my weekend to sleep. New feature for my body is that it seem to crash when I start my cycle. 15 hours Friday night and 9 hours last night. Now I really need to clean. ALso get the child up so we can go get Ethiopian food for lunch. NOM.
I've already done dishes, made myself breakfast, 1 load of laundry, and packed 2 paper grocery bags for the thrift store. Going through piles of paper now to toss, finding some bills to pay.
huh, I wrote all that and never posted. We are back from lunch at the Ethiopian place. mac has a birthday party to be at in an hour, so he is getting ready.
Trying to decide what of the million things I could do around the house to actually do.
Wow, you have already done so much! I am letting my complaining reproductive organs be the boss of me, I think, and mostly sitting on the couch. I did get my tea box packed for the coming week, and have some clothes in the washing machine, maybe I can pick off some more low-hanging chore fruit as the day goes on.
