I still don't have the answers I needed yesterday. Come on people. But other things have come in to keep me busy enough that when I do get answers, the work isn't gonna happen today. Sorry folks.
One of the things I do for the horse therapy place is go through the boring part of new volunteer orientation - expectations, rules, how to interact with the horses and with the clients, and all the stuff that is dictated to us by the associations who accredit the program. Yesterday, I did a one on one orientation with one of the accrediting organization's honchos. No pressure. He did correct me on one item that I was told was a requirement from his association and it actually isn't.
Wow, congressional Republicans are weird.
It's the birthday of a guy in a cube down the way from me, and his boss brought in bagels which he is sharing. I think they are Costco - I've had worse. I shouldn't have taken a whole one, probably, but too late to think that now, it's toasted and cream cheesed.
Huh, I wonder of Boehner had to throw himself on his sword to keep the government going.
So we are always having to distinguish between heat-treated pallets and standard pallets (which are not heat-treated) and end up using non-heat-treated as an adjective for clarity. Is that the right way to spell/punctuate that?
Whoa. Boehner gone, shut down averted, but only because a certain caucus thinks ousting Boehner is enough damage to cause this go-round?
We must look like such assholes to the rest of the world.
Is that the right way to spell/punctuate that?
Technically, there should be an en-dash between "non" and "heat," but I'm thinking that the distinction between hyphen and en-dash probably doesn't matter in this instance. (IOW, it's fine as is.)
Thanks, I'll keep using it!
Resolved work issues (someone did an oopsie and borked the servers) and I just can't anymore with these cramps, so I came home and am lying down. Or curling up. Or something.
Lie down and curl up! That sounds like the right move.
The shocking move means there’s unlikely to be a government shutdown next week. Following Boehner’s announcement, House Republicans said there was agreement to pass a clean spending bill to avert a government shutdown. Several members of the Freedom Caucus, the conservative group which led the revolt against Boehner’s leadership, said they will now support the spending bill without demands to defund Planned Parenthood attached to it.
Whoa!
I just realized I am the backup for an account i know nothing about but the primary analyst is out today. I hope they don't need anything, I'm still catching up on my accounts...
Didn't you just learn that doing nothing is the way to go?
Thanks for the reminder, Jesse! You are correct, that is my lesson for this week, I should take it to heart.
ETA seconding lying down and curling up. Very therapeutic.
