Baby's First trip to the Renaissance Faire.
That's terrific!
No such thing as dairy-free margarine or chocolate? That's a new one on me. Totally brings to mind that scene from The Office where Angela says "Never mind, I'll just eat bread" at the Diwali party because she's vegetarian.
Signed up for heart walk, realize there is conflict with football and mostly have made my peace with that (not letting my DVR go into energy-saving mode seems to have solved that not recording things problem. I am, of course, conflicted about that but I will do it over the short-term). Considering making an Irish coffee before I begin my next task, because why not? And I have a new coffee-making device to try out. Because I have a problem. But I didn't buy a teapot nor any wine, so, some self-control.
I will be Hampdenfesting and going to the Lake Montebello's centennial celebration down the road: [link]
Totally want to take a tour.
Unfortunately ALL tomorrow.
I did buy beer because it was Valar Morghulis Dubbel Ale and I'm not made of stone. And got carded. I'm sure because they have A Policy, but still, seriously?
Also, I can report that Flying Cauldron Butterscotch Beer is gluten free. Or claims to be, anyway.
Link to the fb page has cool old pix [link]
When she came for dinner, she wouldn't eat any of them, because she insisted that "You never know" what gluten the manufacturers might have snuck into their products, and she also wouldn't eat anything made with dairy-free margarine or dairy-free chocolate, because she said that there wasn't any such thing, and all those "dairy-free" products (which were labeled dairy-free and vegan and parve and lots of other words indicating NO DAIRY) actually all had hidden dairy.
Even I know that some margarine is not vegan, but some is! Oy.
I am happy to volunteer for any aspiring cheesemongers to practice their arts!
I didn't mean to snark and run. I shouldn't post when I feel like this. I will say that list pushed my buttons, because it sounded a lot like one pushed by quacks to people I've known. I've also known several people remarkably like Hil's cousin.
I know it has to be hard to eat away from home with food allergies and intolerances. I find it remarkably difficult to keep people from putting mayonnaise on sandwiches.
You guys have to watch the new Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries tonight. Death by
vibrator
!!
I imagine the writers' discussions were fun...
All I have left to do tonight are writing reviews for other people, laundry, dishes, and packing. I think. I hope. I took care of everything I possibly could this week, which is why I'm a stressbomb. I was updating a manager and he said, "I'm sure you have everything under control." I found the wherewithal not to laugh in his face and then scream, "DO I?!"
I really don't wanna work on these reviews, you guys. But perhaps a reward of wine and cheese at the end will get me through it.
Are the only things you can mong cheese, fish, whores and war?
Heh.
I should try some non-bovine cheeses to see if my body will let me get away with that. I miss cheese.
So, hey. It looks like I'll be making my very first trip to Vegas in October. I'm going for a conference so I won't have tons of free time, but what should I do during the time I have?
Tomorrow I'll be at a local arts festival handing out Bernie Sanders flyers. Tonight I'm printing out said flyers. With any luck I'll have a chance to check out the festival itself.
