I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I did buy beer because it was Valar Morghulis Dubbel Ale and I'm not made of stone. And got carded. I'm sure because they have A Policy, but still, seriously?

Also, I can report that Flying Cauldron Butterscotch Beer is gluten free. Or claims to be, anyway.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

When she came for dinner, she wouldn't eat any of them, because she insisted that "You never know" what gluten the manufacturers might have snuck into their products, and she also wouldn't eat anything made with dairy-free margarine or dairy-free chocolate, because she said that there wasn't any such thing, and all those "dairy-free" products (which were labeled dairy-free and vegan and parve and lots of other words indicating NO DAIRY) actually all had hidden dairy.

Even I know that some margarine is not vegan, but some is! Oy.

I am happy to volunteer for any aspiring cheesemongers to practice their arts!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I didn't mean to snark and run. I shouldn't post when I feel like this. I will say that list pushed my buttons, because it sounded a lot like one pushed by quacks to people I've known. I've also known several people remarkably like Hil's cousin.

I know it has to be hard to eat away from home with food allergies and intolerances. I find it remarkably difficult to keep people from putting mayonnaise on sandwiches.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

All I have left to do tonight are writing reviews for other people, laundry, dishes, and packing. I think. I hope. I took care of everything I possibly could this week, which is why I'm a stressbomb. I was updating a manager and he said, "I'm sure you have everything under control." I found the wherewithal not to laugh in his face and then scream, "DO I?!"

I really don't wanna work on these reviews, you guys. But perhaps a reward of wine and cheese at the end will get me through it.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Are the only things you can mong cheese, fish, whores and war?

Heh.

I should try some non-bovine cheeses to see if my body will let me get away with that. I miss cheese.

So, hey. It looks like I'll be making my very first trip to Vegas in October. I'm going for a conference so I won't have tons of free time, but what should I do during the time I have?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Tomorrow I'll be at a local arts festival handing out Bernie Sanders flyers. Tonight I'm printing out said flyers. With any luck I'll have a chance to check out the festival itself.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Are the only things you can mong cheese, fish, whores and war?

And iron, though that word's not used much any more.

Jealous, sarameg. I love touring water treatment facilities, especially the ones that have been around a while (the water palaces around here are pretty amazing, and I'm kind of lumping the Old River Control into that even though it is not about treatment, but it's filed in the same part of my brain)

But perhaps a reward of wine and cheese at the end will get me through it.

Worth a try.

So many choices, aurelia, I don't know where to start with recommending!

I have my running clothes for tomorrow in the wash dryer, headphones charging, chest strap washed and air drying, and bib, shoes, etc. packed up and ready to go. Tuns out I will need to leave the house around 6am to get to my parents' house in time for all of us to get to the race in time for my mom to get a shirt (she registered all of us but somehow got me and my dad shirts but not herself, and it's a pretty shirt, based on this logo [link] ) so the more organized I can be tonight the better. I think I'm in pretty good shape for the moment.
