"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

That's what I meant, but you put it more succinctly, Plei.

I got goat milk cheddar at Cowgirl Creamery and it is delicious!

Okay. I need to go wrangle work tasks. And not cry.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

As you know, Bob, I was down for the pumpkin spice burger, but I think Pimpkin Spice Vodka is where I draw the line. For some reason.

This post brought to you by Shopping at Cost Plus. Eta where they have free wifi. Who knew?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Well, not really, because they're the reason people who have serious issues can't have nice things, by which I mean, they're the reason people who have serious issues get the sideeye and assumptions that they are Paltrowing.

But also ironically the reason they can have nice things, in that without all the fad gluten-free folks there's substantially fewer options in the grocery aisle and at the bakery.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My coworker brought goat milk candy from Mexico, which I have been eating all day! Mmmmm....leche de cabra.

I think Pimpkin Spice Vodka is where I draw the line. For some reason.

Because pimpkin ain't easy??

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

But also ironically the reason they can have nice things, in that without all the fad gluten-free folks there's substantially fewer options in the grocery aisle and at the bakery.

This is also true. One hopes it doesn't dry up with the fad.

I will cry if that happens. (I don't actually get much in the way of GF processed foods, but I love that they exist when I need them, like tortillas to make enchiladas [because corn tortillas, while GF, are too small] or fucking graham crackers so I can have a s'more when I'm forced to camp. Also, beer.)

Punishingly Intricate

Isn't haloumi cheese made from goats' milk? Or maybe sheeps' milk? I keep meaning to try it. I hear it's good grilled.

Evidently a mix of goat and sheep milk generally so, YES!

I'm reading the book Cheesemonger by the head cheese cheese guy at Rainbow Foods right now. It's pretty great! Also, I'm trying new cheeses every week and taking notes on them. My new long-term career goal is to become a cheesemonger.

One of our friends with a HUGE gorgeous house has started having a Cheese Ball every year. The guests dress up super fancy -- though it's not required, because we're chill like that -- and everyone brings cheese. That is a great way to try new cheeses. And eat 5,000 pounds of cheese in one evening.

I always appreciate the person who brings Cheetos.

to make enchiladas [because corn tortillas, while GF, are too small]

Have you tried the casserole/New Mexico style of enchiladas? You could use multiple tortillas per layer.

My new long-term career goal is to become a cheesemonger.

I confess, I was skimming that paragraph, which is why I read "My new long-term goal is to become a cheeseburger."

You know what? I've seen those recipes and think, "I should try that!" And then apparently the thought immediately leaves my brain. I bet I could make those.
