We are trying to find a place to stay in DC. One of the places we saw was in Brookland. I mean, it's been years since I've lived in DC, but I was like, "wait! all the way out there?!" I mean, it's by Catholic, right?
Yes. Nice quiet residential neighborhood, on the Red Line. And super near Washington Hospital Center and Children's Hospital, so the quiet is relative.
Anyway we ended up looking at places in LeDroit Park. When I still lived in DC that area was extreme sketch, but I guess it's all gentrified now. Weird.
You'd be amazed at what is gentrified now. Columbia Heights, Shaw, H Street NE, U Street, the 14th Street corridor, the area around Nats Stadium (Navy Yard/Half Street SE)...
For anyone not on FB, Kate P. had her baby.
Baby! Yay baby!
Thank you for keeping us abreast of the Shake Shack situation, Tom. And for making me aware of the egregious use of 'decimate' in that headline. I'm not even really outraged anymore, but the weary tedium of the continued degradation of a once precise word warms my heart, somehow.
For anyone not on FB, Kate P. had her baby.
I hadn't seen it, because FB is a jerk and didn't put it in my feed.

Boo! It was posted on her DH's FB page, so god knows how the algorithm decides which of her friends get to see that.
Yay, baby!
I guess I will try to make a renter's resume tomorrow because I just can't handle it today. Too many meetings. Not enough sleep. Caffeine broken.
shrift, it's worth looking into particular landlords.
I've got an application in to a place like that, but I need one of their leasing agents to call me back. I'm looking up other options as well. I'm going to be making a lot of phone calls today. UGH.
Yay baby! Thanks for sharing the info, Dana. I haven't been on FB yet.
I'm sure you'll find a nice place, shrift, so fingers crossed that the process isn't too onerous.
Yay, baby!
shrift, tons of ~ma that you find the perfect place to live.
Now, at the end of the training, we're having a video conference using other technology to try and recap with the other group. Having more than one person in one room logged into a meeting from their computers sets up some lovely feedback.
Everything is coming through one set of speakers. I'm pretending I can hear, but I totally can't. Smile and nod, smile and nod.
