Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I would choose pumpkin pie over most fruit pies any day. And over pecan, or most cream pies.

Yaaaasssss.

I don't know why, but I have to emphasize that most stuff is pumpkin SPICE flavor, not pumpkin flavor.

That is true, and my love is for pumpkin, not just the spices. (Though pumpkin *without* the spices is just sad.)

I do also love yams and sweet potatoes and butternut squash and all those orangey fall veggies. Roasted or creamed or baked....yum.

Oooh. It's getting to be time to make butternut squash enchiladas. Nom nom nom.

My fellow newbie editor called me, and I talked him through his problem (downloading articles from our online system, which honestly isn't hard, but isn't exactly intuitive). I really don't like talking to strangers, but since it was a functional call with a specific goal, and I didn't have to just make small talk, it was fine. Dude was very grateful.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Gold star, Tep.

Turning off the alarm and going back to sleep on a Monday morning is the best.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Who are all of you people that don't have to work today?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Popping in to say that Steph needs to remember this when she feels like she's a failure at her job. Why would they recommend that you mentor someone if they didn't think you were capable and doing a good job? We will be here to remind you the next time the demons rear their ugly heads.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Who are all of you people that don't have to work today?

I am at work but currently have no work to do. Which is good, because I can't brain right now.

brillig

Sizzler does a mashed sweet potato that they serve with cinnamon honey butter. Oh. My. God. It's like eating dessert first.

And pumpkin chocolate chip cookies are worth knocking over little children for. (I am, unfortunately, nearly always in the mood to knock most little children over. Cookies just give me a reward.)

I took one of my "floating holidays" today. Such a good call.

Our wings are not tired.

Mmmmm, pumpkin. That's all. I have to work.

hip deep in pie

I am at work, but wondering why the hell I am here, besides my two meetings this AM. Also wondering how early I can sneak away.
