I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think so. They aren't flora. The backyard always has the container water garden but the birdbath in the front is shallow and dries up when it's hot.

Work is kind of sucking today, and people are getting on my nerves, BUT another department is having a bake sale (to benefit another employee who is in the hospital and doesn't have much of a family support system, so good cause) and now I have strawberry pie with whipped cream and a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting. There will be root beer floats available at lunch time. The sweets are definitely helping.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My coworker came in with her tiny baby AND breads for us! Amazing.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My boss is being super annoying. Loudly complaining to anyone he can about policies and procedures that he does not like, BUT THAT ARE NOT NEW, but he chose not to follow and he is now acting and complaining that everyone is changing rules after the fact and making things too difficult. He and Mac are kinda processing at the same level. Picking fights all over the place.

Impulsive decisions with vendors and companies without explaining all of our rules and then getting angry when they do not follow them.

Guess who gets to sort out all the messes.

I am about to send out my second office wide email setting out procedures for items that people are not following. It is in writing and I predict I will be sending it out for months to the top 3 employees when they continue to not follow it and cannot get bills paid.

There is a strong aversion to reading processes here and for communicating in writing. Bizarroland.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

What the hell is up with that, anyway. Why do people think we send out instructions that we've taken the time to write down if they don't matter and can just be ignored?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well, there aren't mosquitos in San Francisco.

Sadly, not true. But most areas are not as afflicted as our neighborhood with its jungle-like back yards.

It's true however that screens are uncommon in windows.

You know what's delicious on a hot day? Root beer float. Mmm.

I bought hard root beer the other day! It is a trip. And would be an amazing float, I bet.

Also, I just had my last weekly check-in with my boss! Aw, now I feel warmly toward her. Is it too soon to cancel the recurring appointment?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

We've been having problems with massive amounts of spam getting through the filters at my office. So our CFO (who more or less manages our tech stuff) got us an online thing to act as our NEW! IMPROVED! spam filter. Sent out an email to everyone with our passwords. Only there were no instructions and he neglected to send a link to the control panel. After I pointed this out, he condescended to send everyone the link. Now it turns out that the NEW! IMPROVED! filter classifies as spam some of the messages we need. Like our weekly e-newsletter. And our mass emails which, yes, are marketing stuff but people need to see them. So ... I get the job of forwarding these important messages to everyone in the office because most people haven't figured out that (1) they're not getting the messages and (2) how to whitelist those addresses.

Oh Toddson. Are you sure you don't work in academia?
