Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

How do I stop getting sucked into the Ask A Manager rabbit hole when I go to look up questions relevant to my job search???
Open a window in tumblr? Or cuteoverload?
In different news, just as I'm about to wrap up my volunteer involvement in CJ's search and rescue team I've been asked to take on a larger role with the therapy horse group. I'm looking forward to both changes.

You just have to read the whole site, so then it's just the new posts to worry about.
Jesse is right- I ended up reading everything on Askamanager.
And our newly upgraded ERP has crashed. Or something. Is not currently available. If it doesn't come back up before my day is officially over I'm not hanging around for it...
My bus was in an accident! I'm 90% sure it was the other guy's fault, but I didn't want to wait around, so I just tried to call the MBTA, but the legal department voicemail box was full. So maybe I'll call back from work tomorrow.
Timelies all!
Still have digestive issues. Bleah. I think something I ate triggered my IBS.(My guess- the portobello mushroom ravioli in marsala sauce.)
Received 2 team achievement awards on the projects that have made my work life insane for 2 years (and continue to.) Large groups, but I and the others who need to know, know exactly the consequential role I played, so I'm fine with the vast gathering. No immediate $$, but hey, goes in my review. Which I will leverage the shit out of. As too the projects I am manhandling into functionality since the full promised suite of software wasn't delivered. I'm the software and dev. Which is fucked.
I do appreciate the recognition from the institute, if not my employer.
My work supervisor and partner in whine was awarded the Rodger Doxsey award for Science Systems Engineering, which is a huge big deal. It's in honor of our late mission head who was a force to be reckoned with and made shit happen. They don't give it every year, just when they think it is deserved to someone whose work is long term mission critical. It's a high bar. Unfortunately, she's on vacation.
We're so fucked when she retires next summer. Hopefully we can get her to leverage this into an at-her-will consulting position. Next review when asked my career goals, I'm going with " become Dorothy."
