Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yeah, I think working out in the morning is part of that fantasy-me I imagine I'm going to magically become. In reality, I'm barely functional before 11am, no matter what time I go to bed or what time I get up. "They" say you shouldn't exercise right before bedtime, but I find it a good way to relieve the day's stress. So, evening exercise for me.
I like getting up to watch the sunrise and putter around the house a little in the pleasant dawn hours. And then going the f* back to bed until 10am.

That would be ideal for me as well. But since I have to get up at dark o'clock to get to work on time anyway, squeezing in a workout seems doable (and I don't find after work or in the evening any easier - once I am home I don't want to go out again, and I'm usually worn out immediately after work)
At work right now AINFG. Not terrible, actually, but not great.
Yeah, I've never been a morning exerciser. Even though morning races I usually manage to be awake and all "hey this is nice crisp morning air!" I still have better race times for night races (my fastest time has been at the midnight 4th of July race, and second fastest at a 7pm race!)
Because I made the mistake of checking my work email on Labor Day, let me rant for a moment.
Everybody says,
don't be such a control freak, let people help you, let other people do some of the editing when it's too much!
So okay, I do, I give some of my work to the "pool" of highly trained editors and what happens? Out of ten people, eight of them don't read the instructions and I end up having to re-do the editing because they did it wrong. Not "wrong" as in, not my preferred way, "wrong" as in, specifically not this journal's style, why can't you people read the instructions? One person told me she only read the first page... of two. If READING TWO PAGES is too difficult for you, perhaps EDITING is not the right job for you.
Thank you for listening. Please carry on with your relaxing day of not working, which I should have done.
And thanks for the link, Kat. Marked for later.

Ha, she laughed bitterly.
24-hour tech support for an international clientele means we have customers who don't care if it's a holiday. So I'm here. And they've sent three-quarters of the people home, because God forbid you pay people to be here so that the two people who are left aren't stressed by the rest of the people in the world who need help.
But being here means I'm "a team player" (I hate that term). And it means I'll get to go home early on another occasion. And I plan to work Thanksgiving, which makes the managers who buy in to stupid phrases like "team player" happy.
I washed my hair this morning, so I won't have to do it tomorrow, but now I'm all sweaty! Oops.
Biyi's parents' permanent residency has been approved! They may now travel freely between China and Australia
This is fabulous news, bt. And my congratulations to Ryan on his office pool victory.
I'm at work because we are testing the upgrade of our ERP before it does into full live mode across the company tomorrow. We get a free lunch, but it's Subway. Not my favorite, but free. I was hoping for barbecue because Labor Day, but that was way too high a hope.
OMG, the change-is-hard whining, even for things that we have known would be changing for months.
Change is HARD. I think the best you can hope for is people realizing that's the problem.
Relatedly, I was using my mother's new computer, and it's Win10, and I can't even figure that thing out! I mean, I figured it out, but yikes.
