All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Huh.

So, I feel some of you will appreciate this: had a lunch date. We drank a carafe of mimosas which seemed to have almost no OJ in them. And then decided we should go to the spa. So spent the next two hours naked in a hot tub/sauna. Like you do.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Sounds like a good date, meara

not only did I pack away my excess dinnerware into recognizable dinnerware-holding boxes, I labeled them well enough that I could find the wine glasses on the first try. Well done, past -t!

Well done indeed! My day on the other hand was spent unpacking boxes that were all stored away when my MiL died. They were all labeled "Glass" and held a variety of dishes, cups, mugs, and decorative figurines. Argh! I boxed up 2/3 of it again and readied it for donation, and swapped out our chipped plate collection for my MiL's old Corelle dishes.

The what?!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My 18 year old niece just posted her first drinking at college photo on Facebook.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Meh.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

More office news: I have assured George, who came second, that there is no shame in having lost to a six-year old. After all, he's a fairly bright six-year old. Oh, and one of the Operations staff (who won the comp for the last four years running, and after a strong late showing, finished just one tip behind Ryan) made him a certificate proclaiming him to be the winner of the tipping comp. the little boy was all smiles when he received it.

More news, almost as momentous: Biyi's parents' permanent residency has been approved! They may now travel freely between China and Australia, which both share the honor of having been the subject of a Discworld novel. I'm sure that's significant somehow.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm awake. And drinking coffee. And contemplating yard work. Ugh. But last outdoor swim of the season today!

It would appear that the big obstacle between me and gym-before-work is needing to get dressed twice. Choosing two outfits. Not that my gym nor my work are particularly fashion-conscious places, but this is a particular bugbear of mine.

It seems like something I could figure out a way to overcome, but I don't know if it'll happen today.

OTOH, leisurely breakfast and coffee, very pleasant.

It must be pear season. I got pears in my box from the farm last week and my grocery delivery threw in a bag of pears as complimentary samples. Delicious.

An homage?

I kinda miss the blinky under construction icons.
