"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It is just north of Denver. Tis a suburb.

Cool! ...Cause I'm gonna be there Sept 30th - Oct 3rd for a songwriters convention. Will you be around?

ION I looked up the form 990 of the organization for whose directorship I got headhunted yesterday. The retiring head made 3 times as much as I make in 2014. They are SO not going to hire me for this job

YES THEY ARE. And they are going to finally pay you what you are worth! Or at least more that you're making now ;)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Don't have much planned for the weekend, but I know I won't be catching up on my sleep. (Because baby. and cat.)

hip deep in pie

My boss snuck out at 2 today without telling us he was going. (Or letting us go too.) Totally typical of him.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Will you be around?

I should be! YAY!!

Work pushed a bit later than expected, but I'm ok with that, just wrapping up now and doing my timesheet.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's so shitty. I've had jobs where none of the big bosses were in, so no one let people out early, but that is worse.

Current job never closes early before a holiday, but at least you can plan for that, too.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The retiring head made 3 times as much as I make in 2014.

No reason that couldn't be you.

I must admit, I am tempted to go get a pumpkin latte just because I can. i don't even really like them that much (gingerbread lattes are my Starbucks crack of choice) but it is enticing. Ooh, maybe a pick-up-on-the-way-to-the-office treat for Monday.

That's so wrong, Sue.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Today was my first day back at work, and thank god, because all the tears I haven't cried yet kept coming at every coworker (and regular visitor) I encountered, and we were at just half-staff.

The worst though was when the special needs Girl Scout caught on to what her mom was clarifying with me and I got slapped in the face with about twenty "I'm sorry you're brother's dead" in the space of two minutes. I was actually flinching halfway through it and wondering if it wold be acceptable to punch her in the face.

Okay, no, my instinct was actually to grasp her arms and tell her to stop saying that in a very firm manner. The parents finally hushed her. I've never felt words like blows before, and I knew I just had to take it because of who it was coming from.
