Today was my first day back at work, and thank god, because all the tears I haven't cried yet kept coming at every coworker (and regular visitor) I encountered, and we were at just half-staff.

The worst though was when the special needs Girl Scout caught on to what her mom was clarifying with me and I got slapped in the face with about twenty "I'm sorry you're brother's dead" in the space of two minutes. I was actually flinching halfway through it and wondering if it wold be acceptable to punch her in the face.

Okay, no, my instinct was actually to grasp her arms and tell her to stop saying that in a very firm manner. The parents finally hushed her. I've never felt words like blows before, and I knew I just had to take it because of who it was coming from.

School wasn't in session for my kids but it was for me, so I took them to campus today. They now own USC swag.

I should get a bit more work done before I shift into weekend mode today, but it is So. Hard. to motivate.

Zouk is very sexy, meara, but I suspect it takes a while for the hip sway to feel and look so natural. My stretch teacher likes to have us work on isometric isolation in the hips and such, and as I watch in the mirror I always think she looks incredibly hot, and I look like a horny housewife about two bottles into a long night.

Oh, I"m SURE it's very hard--both to look good doing as a lady, and also to figure out what you're SUPPOSED to be doing. I felt a little better knowing the people I was so in awe of were mostly the people who were there to teach it. But it was also a bit jealous-making to see how young and sexy all those folks were compared to the...less than young or sexy folks we usually dance with (there's a lot of older folks, I'm on the young end, and I'm not exactly young these days!)

not a proud moment and I slapped him, so double not proud. OTOH he is being a giant turd. from zero to turd in like 5 seconds. He is failing a class, I got an alert, I am enforcing established rule, I am a monster and my society is horrible we kill kids and take away mac's freedom.

There you have it. my world. I had just been telling him how we should go to the video game store that is having a big sale and also hit up a bunch of garage sales to see if we can get some free weights.

Man, I once flipped my dad off when I was as five, had no idea what it meant. Dad threatened to break my fingers off. Never did it again.

My other reaction is to fire him into the moon. But I also like to fantasize about punching sped kids, so . . .
