this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My brother, after years of resisting, has finally joined Facebook. And now he is finding out how much of a troll I really am.

Norse mythology is a particularly strong interest of his. He posted an illustration of Loki from a very old book, and said something about chaos, etc.

So I replied "WHAT. This looks nothing like that guy from The Avengers. I think you need to check your sources."

Maybe for good measure I should post a photo of HiddlesLoki.

Or of my Loki.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I love the way you play with you and your brother, Steph.

OMG, went out dancing tonight and it was PACKED--in addition to the usual crowd, there were a fair number who came for a competition that was happening, and I think some came because hey, Friday before Labor Day weekend is practically a holiday right? And then there was this huge crowd of folks who are in town for a zouk festival. It's not really similar to west coast swing at all, but there's some crossover, and they were SO fun to watch. It's an incredibly sexy dance, and I was so impressed (I later found out not of the folks I saw dancing and was so impressed by are all the teachers, so that made me feel slightly better). But also they were all pretty hot folks themselves, which helped. Just...damn, look at this (skip to about 40 seconds in): [link]

It was very intimidating to be on th same dance floor. But dang I wish I could dance like that! However, I can't imagine trying to learn it with the awkward dudes who are probably in the class. Also, I do not have appropriate hair to whip around during all the head and neck rolls.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Suzi, that's a great vote of confidence, and yet, why would you want a position he's just described as horribly frustrating.

This is my problem! But my current job is pretty frustrating anyway, and at least the promotion would set me up better for my next job? I would basically be looking to leave right now if everyone else hadn't beaten me to it! But now I have to stay for the team, at least for a while. So I might as well try to be the boss.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

hmm ... they should add Zouk to So You Think You Can Dance

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I had two appointments today: orthodontist to pick up aligners, and haircut. Call this morning from the ortho that the aligners haven't arrived yet. Call just now from the hairdresser's pointing out that the big watermain break is basically outside their door, so they have no water. Which actually means I can come any time, because all of her other appointments were for color! And since I'm off work today, I haven't even showered, so I'm just going to head over there with wet hair in a bit.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Just what I was thinking, Toddson

We have a short day today, woohoo! I want to go see a movie, but I should go home and mow my lawn. Maybe if I get my lawn mowed I can see a movie after? But Friday night movie is a whole different vibe than Friday afternoon.

I would basically be looking to leave right now if everyone else hadn't beaten me to it! But now I have to stay for the team, at least for a while. So I might as well try to be the boss.

I follow your logic, but that still seems really weird to me.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I would basically be looking to leave right now if everyone else hadn't beaten me to it! But now I have to stay for the team, at least for a while. So I might as well try to be the boss.

Better to rule in hell than be a peon in hell? Can't argue with that.

I don't know, I just have a peon mentality.Reigning in Hell has never sounded appealing to me.

Someone brought in Krispy Kreme, hooray! I was just wishing for something sweet.
