Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Ginger, I'm sorry you're going through this, and I wish I was closer to help. I'm continuously sending strong and healing vibes your way.

Sara, what kind of financial involvement am I looking at here? I'm going to spend it of course, but I want to make sure that the vet is giving me a good price, or do I need to shop around?

I have no memory of what it cost. Probably deliberately, as all the times I had to do it involved expensive emergency hospitalization for infections of unknown origins to start with, so the home treatment was the least of it. But you also probably can get better info about where to shop about online/ acceptable substitutes from the medical folk you know. Start with the vet's kit, which may or may not be veterinary-specific, then go from there.

I mean, that's not really helpful advice. But point is it is manageable, but all of it doesn't need to be managed right now.

Suzi, that's a great vote of confidence, and yet, why would you want a position he's just described as horribly frustrating.

Yeah, that has crossed my mind. I'm kinda curious as it would give me management experience. I've been management adjacent before but it would be a good challenge. I've been with the company longer than him and have lots of great connections I could tap if I needed mentorship. But it isn't on offer now and it may never be. And that is ok too.

Maria - I'm glad your bf is there to help. Ginger - we need that teleporter so we can bip over there and be able to do more than wishing we could help.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

So you know that thing where you're in a bar in the East Village, and like pretty much everyone else is literally half your age? Right.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I dunno Tom, I'm too old to go into bars much anymore, and when I do it seems like they are all way younger than half my age.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My brother, after years of resisting, has finally joined Facebook. And now he is finding out how much of a troll I really am.

Norse mythology is a particularly strong interest of his. He posted an illustration of Loki from a very old book, and said something about chaos, etc.

So I replied "WHAT. This looks nothing like that guy from The Avengers. I think you need to check your sources."

Maybe for good measure I should post a photo of HiddlesLoki.

Or of my Loki.

I love the way you play with you and your brother, Steph.
