And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Wow, flea! That's very exciting, whatever you choose.

Hi, Kate! So glad that you and Jane are doing well.

Hi, Cindy!

I also am so happy to hear from Kate and Cindy!

I took the headhunter phone call while sitting on the living room floor in my underpants. You may sympathize with my feeling like an imposter. This position involves budgeting and financial management (largest thing I have done this for besides my household was managing the supply budget for a library department) and keeping the work of volunteers in committees on track (largest thing I have done this for besides my household is the kids school library, which has 5 volunteers besides me, and I do most of the work.) So I am feeling not very worthy. And I already have a tendency to sell myself short in professional conversations.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Hi, Cindy! Hi, Kate! Hi, Jane. Go back to sleep.

Connie, that's terrifying. Glad you're okay! And everyone else who escaped harm, of course, but especially you.

Whoa, flea. Hell of an egoboo, and what an opportunity!

Nah. That's not what an imposter does. That's what the queen (of Classics) does! The queen is still the queen even in just her underpants.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yikes, Connie!

And Ginger! Stay safe and check in when you get a chance, I will worry.

flea, I feel certain you could totally do that job. And that's awesome you got the call sitting on the floor in your underwear. So 21st century!

I am deferring brewing my pot of tea until after the webinar because I am that much of a professional. Herbal tea today, that will be too late for caffeine.

My iced tea/lemonade mix, sold under the Arnold Palmer brand, has an aftertaste of turpentine. Do not want. Will have to make my own mix and bring it in to work. It'll cut the diet Coke consumption.

Hi Cindy! Hi Kate!

Is it wrong that I was relieved to get to work today so as to have a break from caring for parents and doing household chores? At least here the temperature inside is comfortably cool.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

They're reporting that the gunmen took wallets from the people in the CVS, and then went on to rob a Dollar General shortly afterwards. My street is the road between the CVS and the Dollar General. Daylight robberies in what is basically a residential area seem to show a certain level of desperation. They haven't caught them yet, but they could have gotten right on 285 and be anywhere.

I am in the office today, making my monthly appearance and checking in with my manager. He and I get along great, to the point where he tells me stuff he probably shouldn't. He is frustrated with his management role, not having budget for meeting with his team and providing mentorship. I off hand asked who he would recommend as a replacement and he said me. Ummm, what???

flea, I get that not feeling worthy thing, but I feel like you could definitely do this. But hearing that, and believing it yourself are two different things, I know.

Yikes, Ginger, I hope they catch the gunmen, or at least they leave your neighborhood and go far, far away.

Cool, Suzi!
