Wednesday she was so angry with me for telling her to go play with her brother, she slammed the screen door hard enough to knock two of the three screws off of the frame that holds the door in place.
On one hand, that's infuriating, kids breaking shit. On the other hand, Grace being strong enough to slam a door that hard made me tear up a little.
Way back when, when Grace was new, I had a dream about her. I was in a big empty building, like a warehouse but with concrete berms and stairs all around, and in the distance was teenage Grace, standing there with a pink pixie haircut, grinning at me as if to say, I made it, I'm fine. It stuck in my mind because I don't normally dream about people's kids. So if rebellious teenage Grace ever dyes her hair pink, I'm a prophet.

Woke up at 6:15 this morning for no reason (my alarm was set for 7:30, since I work from home). But I was having anxiety nightmares, so I decided to just get up. I do have a fair bit to do today (though honestly it'll only take a couple hours if I buckle down and really DO it).
Very jealous of Consuela's month, that's awesome! Three weeks on vacation sounds amazing, as does returning to a fab new kitchen and new job!
What kind of cupcakes/bars/cake should I make to bring to dancing for my birthday tonight? (My actual birthday is tomorrow but dancing is tonight) I'm thinking cupcakes because they're easier to eat without a fork/plate, or bars because they're easier than cupcakes to transport. I need inspiration for something delicious.
