Yay for the job offer, Consuela!
For the ugly scrapes, are you using Tegaderm bandages? It makes a huge difference in terms of how they heal up, keeps the wound moist and clean.
I don't know them! I thought for scrapes, we were supposed to let them dry and scab so they wouldn't get infected...
I think Lori was recommending some of the fancier band-aids for open wounds. I know she likes burn film!
Congrats on the job! Overdue to say the least.
So ... I got the job offer today.
Hooray! I have no advice on wound care.
I had my annual review today. It was all very positive except for one bit of criticism which is a textbook example of a thing only women get criticized for (I can sometimes be brusque or curt in my responses). I kinda wanted to roll my eyes and hold up a mirror. Or say, "Hi I'm Kettle. You must be Pot." I refrained.
I was exhausted most of the day because at 3am I had to console a distraught kitty. ISTG, I think she had a nightmare and woke up in the living room scared and alone. I woke to the most bereft, pathetic cries. I sat up and Gilda was lying next to my feet with a WTH? look on her face. I said, "What's going on, Rosie?" and she came racing into the room, still crying. It was way too hot for her to snuggle up to me, but she did for at least half an hour before she seemed to be over it.
Congrats on the job! Sorry about the scrapes.
I'm in my grumpy blanket fort, but my pillow is too close to the floor because every time I press my ear to it I hear a humming noise like I'm in The Matrix or something.
Yay on job! Sorry about the scrape. I recommend the CVS brand Manuka Honey bandages. They're great for scrapes and burns. [link]
Congrats on the job offer, Consuela.
I hope you get some rest, aurelia.
Yay job! Congratulations.
Yay job! Boo fall. When I had a running fall last month, I washed the scrapes out with soap and water (ow), and used bandaids and neosporin for a couple of weeks. Then I went to letting them air out and scab up at home and using bandaids when I was out and about. The worst one, on my knee, is down to its last bit of healing now. You can't see where I banged up my elbow. So, I guess it was the right call? It might have healed faster/worse doing something else? Hard to say. At least half of my plan was motivated by keeping bodily fluids off my clothes and soft furnishings.
