She actually replied with a useful concrete guideline AND explained the reason behind it (which boils down to "the people above her on the food chain want it that way") AND said "Thanks for sticking with this and not giving up!"
And I just wanted to say "You could have mentioned all this earlier, and I would have known to do it. I can't read minds, so when higher-ups want something to change YOU HAVE TO TELL ME." But I didn't. I just said thank you, that's very helpful and I'll be sure to double-check for it in the future.

One nice thing about the delivery delay is that I don't have to get up at 5:30am tomorrow to make my 8am meeting anymore.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.
My boss just replied to my email asking if I should bother with taking that course with "...[if you can] crowbar any of our group away from their work, it really is totally worth it". Uh. "Crowbar"? Like I'm clinging to this laptop begging for more work while my friends try to drag me away to have fun?
I replied that I wouldn't be taking the course, and also I'm taking vacation days that week instead.
