I'm a vision of hotliness, and how weird is that? Mystical comas. You know, if you can stand the horror of a higher power hijacking your mind and body so that it can give birth to itself, I really recommend 'em.

Good luck Dana.

I wonder if Peter Thiel is consciously trying to develop his own supervillain origin story, or if that's all just a coincidence? [link]

More than anything, Peter Thiel, the billionaire technology investor and Donald Trump supporter, wants to find a way to escape death. He's channeled millions of dollars into startups working on anti-aging medicine, spends considerable time and money researching therapies for his personal use, and believes society ought to open its mind to life-extension methods that sound weird or unsavory.

Speaking of weird and unsavory, if there's one thing that really excites Thiel, it's the prospect of having younger people's blood transfused into his own veins.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I think you're onto something, Sue.

I know, right?

  • Mad with power, check.
  • Obscene amounts of money, check.
  • Obsessed with immortality, check.
  • Willing to experiment on himself, check.

He's is a flashy red bodysuit and a secret weapon away from being an actual supervillain.

ETA: And we don't know that he doesn't have the secret weapon already!!!

What with the young-blood infusions, I'm not quite willing to rule out Buffier possibilities. There's even a neighborhood here in San Francisco, where (alas) he lives, called Sunnydale.

(eta: I mean he lives in SF, but in one of the fancier neighborhoods. If he actually lived in *Sunnydale*, that'd be a giant code red right there.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've been sickish but not actually sick for a week now and am so tired of it. Definitely not flu and not strep, just some miscellaneous cold that's playing havoc with the asthma and making me a drippy, coughing, decongestant-fogged idiot at work. BLARG.

I almost hate to say this, but could it be allergies? Hate to say it because at least a cold will go away...

I was going to complain that it was early, but JZ's got it way worse.

Same!

My poor stupid cat woke me up at like 3:30 by puking straight on my bed, so that was fun. I guess I should call the vet and see what new kind of $$$ food she wants me to try. And cross my fingers that there's a way to buy a small portion of it. My cupboard is already full!

It definitely a situation that calls for Buffy.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Allergies are definitely part of it. My sinuses hate pretty much every plant and animal on the planet, and wage war against them all by swelling up into a solid impenetrable mass that effectively turns all my facial cavities into concrete. Throbbing concrete.

But I'm (spoilerfont for grossness) hacking up multicolored globs, so there's some kind of actual bug in the mix too.

Good times!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh, JZ. Feel better.

Yeah, that's not disturbing at all.

JZ, I hope you feel better soon.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

JZ, does a neti pot help? I know it's not a magic cure-all, but adding it to the mix might help.
