It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Sending best outcome vibes your way, Brenda.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Here's something amusing. The fire and rescue in Twin Lakes is volunteer (I think) so when you call 911 on a Sunday afternoon, the cops are in uniform but it takes a sec to realize that the dude in motorcycle boots and jeans with the bandana tied around his forehead is the lead paramedic.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

He just had a big seizure which was the scariest fucking thing and I never want to see that again. Dr. was in the room though so that's good, and might be a clue to what's going on. Back to the VA tonight (we're at a local hosp now) and then I dunno.

I hope the doctors figure this out quickly!

Lots of ~ma to your dad, brenda. I know someone whose mother exhibited stroke-like symptoms without having a stroke. It turned out to be a salt deficiency. Whatever it is, I hope it is sorted out quickly.

My dad had an episode where he was practically incoherent, talking nonsense, and kind of stroke-like symptoms because his sodium got all out of whack. I can't remember any more if it was too high or too low, but either way, the symptoms were scary.

(hi friends, small cosmetic change)

I like the name!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Health~ma to your dad, Benda.

I'm cooking Persian dinner tonight. Steamed rice with tadiq (crispy rice) and walnut-chicken-pomegranate stew. Also making a plate of pita bread, feta, mint, radishes, and onions. I really want to make a full Persian meal but those take a lot more work.

FesenjÄn! I haven't had that in ages, largely because the one place within driving distance that makes it also makes really delicious kabobs, tenderloin filets, and seafood crepes.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

So much dad~ma, Brenda. And I wish he hadn't had a seizure, but if he had to I'm glad it was right in front of the doctor. It makes a huge difference in treatment when they've actually witnessed an episode.

So much that, JZ. And holy fuck am I glad I decided to call 911 (after talking with the VA nurse helpline) and that didn't happen here at the house.
