Natter 74: Ready or Not

I just saw a great sweatshirt dress in a magazine and I want it.
I also saw a youngish woman with the cutest (natural) gray hair this morning, and I want that, too.
Of course, for my own part, I got my highlights refreshed last night and also a few inches cut off.
I'm so happy I got about 3 inches cut off. (Of course, the funny part is that it still basically hits my shoulders, so it was craxy long [for me] when it was cut.) And the thing is, if I had just gotten a trim to give it a decent shape but kept the length, it looked good, especially when it was blown out.
But my issue is 100% a sensory thing. I cannot STAND the feel of my hair on my shoulders and upper back, especially when it's wet, but also dry. That's why it was in a crazy bun all summer. I'm envious of women who have long pretty hair, but I can't do it without driving myself insane.
Timelies all!
I'm not the person to ask about hair styling, as i get my hair trimmed every six months, and am letting my hair go salt-and-pepper.(partly because I want to see how it looks and partly because I'm afraid of chemically treating my already thinning hair.)

Just that quickly, I forgot that zenkitty was talking about her hair, so I seriously sat here for a minute trying to figure out what "Short, salt and pepper" means in term of politics.
Oh, brain. I worry about you.
I think I'm going to turn the heat on so I can put Madam President on my toes. Even though apparently my "most efficient" neighbors used like a quarter as much gas as I did last year. I mean, there could be an apartment a quarter the size of mine, but the gas company does not indicate.
Steph, my brain is like that all the time! The other day I was standing in the office wondering what to have for dinner, and the oven dinged to remind me that I was already in the middle of making chicken pasta. Forgot it that quick.
Short, salt and pepper, seems to have won! I'll go to a stylist this week for a cut, and have them dye it back to its natural color, and then I'll let it grow out.
Short salt & pepper FTW! I've been considering toning down from all-over color to just streaks, so I can find out what my natural color even is these days.
Has anyone ever sold a totaled car for salvage? Is there a better way to recycle a totaled car?
(Everyone is FINE by the way. Except the car, which was 15 years old anyway and not a huge financial loss except we weren't planning to replace it this year. Also the guy who hit it may not have insurance, so that's EXTRA FUN.)
I take it the car doesn't drive anymore? Because yeah, if you can't donate it, I'd sell for salvage
