Motherfucker. I just spent an hour trying to put brackets in my windows, basically failing and THEN realizing that my old shades don't actually work in the new windows. I should have bought all new ones yesterday. My mother came in when I was close to a breakdown and said she would get the guy doing her office walls to do it. So nice! But I'm still fucking aggravated, and don't understand why this is so hard. Obviously people have been able to install brackets on many many windows over the years.

I got recyclist for my birth year. Not nearly as good as bada-bing!

Windows are fundamentally frustrating to try to do anything to, in my experience. I've had windows that you could not drill to mount brackets near the frame, it was just impossible. In fact, maybe my current windows? I'm looking at my curtains and noticing the mounting hardware is all pretty far outside the frames.

Yeah, I eventually did that, which did help, and then I googled a guy putting them up just with nails, which is way easier. My main problem is the tiny space and angles, so I basically can't drill them in without damaging the window frame.

I'm just grateful our neighborhood handyman is around this week.

I did Gishwhes for the first time this year. exhausting and fun and made me realize how little I do in my current iteration of my life. That was part of doing it, make me do stuff, make me figure things out, have a project (or several).

Along those same lines, I went to a Meet-Up today. Liberal Ladies who Lunch, which sounds a little too blue hairs with money who eat tea sandwiches, but is really not. It is mainly a social group for liberal women to get together in areas that are majorily conservative. Some people network about political things, some just talk. The group itself doesn't do much politically, but members tend to all be parts of groups that do. There were Bernie supporters there and a chair of the Country Democratic Women. I am going to try to start going to the lunch once a month. MEETING NEW PEOPLE!! I don't much like new people, but I would like some friends here, so I powered through.

Man, I want a free avocado! Although our neighbor gave me 3 tomatoes from one of the (MANY) tomato plants in his front yard the other day when he happened to be outside when I walked by with the dog. He said he wanted to give them away before the squirrels could eat them.
