Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Hi Nilly! It's always so lovely to see your pixels. And I love your Yom Kippur posts, as they remind me that, even though I don't follow your faith, some regular soul searching would be a wise thing for me, too.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Hi, Nilly! It's always good to see your font around here.

Hey, Nilly!

I have conducted my yearly ritual of the baking of the fruitcakes. When they're cool, I'll douse them with (more) brandy and wrap them well to age for the next couple of months.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Am trapped in a conference call for the board of the ADD group. I want to stab someone. The upside is that no one knows that I'm not paying attention and reading the internet.

I gotta officially resign from the board, because this is painful and annoying.

Save me, or at least entertain me!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

The upside is that no one knows that I'm not paying attention and reading the internet.

They are too.

(edit: I say this from years of experience as an ADD'er on conference calls!)

Punishingly Intricate

I have to say I made a pretty delicious dinner tonight for Canadian Thanksgiving--ginormous roast turkey breast, yummy buttery creamy mashed potatoes, sweet potato rolls, kale salad, and both brownies & apple crisp for dessert. OH! And surprisingly good gravy that I just kind of winged (but had delicious defrosted turkey stock to put in). Fortunately, my friend and his 10 year old twins came to help me and my Canadian eat it. I need to figure out what to do with all the leftover turkey, though. Turkey pot pie?

Love to you as always, Nilly.

Why are all the IKEA things I want at the damned College Park location, not the one nearby? I want this rug and this duvet: [link] [link] Not urgent, just annoying.

Lisah, that sounds delicious!

Happy thanksgiving, Canadians!

I got zero accomplished today because I hit a huge clusterfuck at work--30% is just straight cluster and 70% is shit that someone I delegated to just fucked up all over for no reason. Which looks bad because I should've been QCing it--but I looked at the first couple she did and they were fine! And then apparently she went way off the rails.

Delivery fees would be like 80 bucks. Cheaper to drive at some point.
