We have to see the chimp playing hockey! That's hilarious! The ice is so slippery, and, and monkeys are all irrational. We have to see this!

Love to you as always, Nilly.

Why are all the IKEA things I want at the damned College Park location, not the one nearby? I want this rug and this duvet: [link] [link] Not urgent, just annoying.

Lisah, that sounds delicious!

Happy thanksgiving, Canadians!

I got zero accomplished today because I hit a huge clusterfuck at work--30% is just straight cluster and 70% is shit that someone I delegated to just fucked up all over for no reason. Which looks bad because I should've been QCing it--but I looked at the first couple she did and they were fine! And then apparently she went way off the rails.

Delivery fees would be like 80 bucks. Cheaper to drive at some point.

I am on a major nesting binge, I realize. I guess that means I'm recovering from the spring's plumbing and construction adventure hangover.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

70% is shit that someone I delegated to just fucked up all over for no reason. Which looks bad because I should've been QCing it--but I looked at the first couple she did and they were fine! And then apparently she went way off the rails.

omg this happens to me every damn time I delegate stuff. The whole point of delegating is that the person you give it to is capable of handling it for you without close supervision!

brillig

I gotta officially resign from the board, because this is painful and annoying.

I thought you left them ages ago.

Librarian Warlord

I have one more class to teach, and then tomorrow I get on the plane for home. I've been taking care of email, but I hate to think what will be waiting for me when I get back. I hope nothing too terrible, because in addition to teaching, early next week I'll have 54 final exams to grade, and my DH is headed to NYC for 4 days so my time at work will be limited to school hours.

Our wings are not tired.

Home town Donald tale I keep forgetting to mention. A few weeks ago I asked my son's GF if she was voting Trump, mostly joking, but she is into hunting and car racing, and you never know. She laughed and shared her meeting The Donald story.

When she was 11 years old and growing up in Palm Beach County her girl scout troop went to Mar-a-Lago for an event. She had the honor of being the flag bearer and was super excited of course. When the press turned their cameras toward the group Trump GRABBED THE FLAG OUT OF HER HANDS and waved it around for the cameras. She was just stunned and didn't know what to do. Needless to say, she is not a fan.

Nilly, I don't think you have offended or slighted me in any way, but I appreciate this post every year. I am always happy to see your thoughtful, loving self around.
