Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

No hand pleurisy! Is a good thing, right?

Sheryl, I hope whatever is wrong with the foot sorts itself out quickly and well.

Such planning, Connie! I bow to your organizational skills. And wish you well in the new place.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

And I would rather it was something like this than something completely confusing and undiagnosable.

There is that, but still, geez, that's a lot to deal with at once.

I have a question for the hivemind: There's a rental house by me that's been empty for a long time. I know someone who would like to move into my neighborhood. We don't know who to contact about renting it. There's no sign out front. It's not for sale, either. I found the name of the owner but she lives in a different state, so she's clearly not managing the property herself. I've googled the address and can't find a company that's handling it. Any ideas? Is this weird?

OK, just skipped 6000+ posts here because I was never even going to make skimming work. Trying to be back on the board. I miss you folks a lot as I said in the delurking thread.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Zen, have you checked the address on Zillow to see if they have an agent listed?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Dana, I hope treatment for your mutant hand goes smoothly.

Our wings are not tired.

Hey Frankenbuddha!! Good to see you.

Dana, may the evil hand treatment involve chants and herbs.

The first time I remember moving was on Halloween. I got to trick-or-treat at BOTH locations!

My neighbor 2 doors down bought the land for his house just before Halloween. He was so excited to be moving to an area with kids that he brought his candy and sat on the tailgate of his truck in costume handing out treats at the vacant lot. Today he would probably get arrested.

So we'll see tomorrow how the kids did with hurricane prep, or should I say how Bobby and his girlfriend did because his brother was no help. They are going to get hammered. Is it really wrong that I am happy that most of my customers will not be working tomorrow or Friday so I can take off and go to NYC the next couple days. This whole being away for the hurricane is pretty cool.

I did, and they don't. Nor on Realtor.com. Searching on the address gives me nothing useful. I don't get owning a rental property and just letting it sit empty.

Also, Frankenbuddha! Welcome back!

Such planning, Connie! I bow to your organizational skills.

Having a horror of vague plans for important things that borders on OCD has its uses. The phrase "Oh, it'll work out" can drive me to fury.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Zen, I'd look at craigslist for postings that are likely to be that place, and actually wouldn't expect to see places listed by address. At least not in places I've lived.
