"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Sue, does Marshalls ballot count? I mean I don't know the rules on that.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

"She cast her vote and signed her name as her final act of a long life of service to others," her son said.

That's wonderful. Made me tear up a little.

It's state-by-state, Kat. So in some places yes, in some places no.

I'm not sure how the election officials can monitor that. I'm sure there's lots circumstances where a person fills in an absentee ballot because they are too ill to go to the polls and then pass beforehand. But there are probably lots who are still alive come election day. ETA: I know almost nothing about US voting laws, so I have no idea what's allowed.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Laura,

The foot's feeling a lot better. Whether that's due to the splint or the super-strength ibuprofen,I don't know, but it doesn't hurt much at all.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hooray for drugs.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Way to live, Gertrude!

Glad to hear the foot feels better, Sheryl.

So, in an effort to decrease decision fatigue while maintaining variety, I have a schedule of various breakfasts and today it came up Muffin. I do not have any muffins nor muffin surrogates in the house, and I'm not up for baking for work, but Panera is doing a daily free bagel thing this month so (you can guess where this is going) I have ordered a blueberry bagel for rapid pickup. Fuckos.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ha! Love that.

I also love my new rotating lunch schedule for similar reasons. If the Vietnamese place is in the rotating slots, I have that. If the line at the good salad place is short enough, I have that. It all works out quite well!

Our wings are not tired.

So my home likely will have a Cat 4 hurricane dancing around it the next couple days and I am 1500 miles away. So it is up to the boys to prep the house. Not getting a direct hit, but ~8" of rain and 90 mph winds. So probably losing power. Ugh, I have lots of fish in the freezer.

Still, I am so lucky. I have hurricane windows and shutters and a city parking garage where we can stash the vehicles. My heart breaks for the people in Haiti, Cuba, and the Bahamas. We have lots of friends and family in those places and they are frantic.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

One of our friends has a son who is an EMT, and he went to Haiti yesterday to help with...everything, I guess. Our friend is pretty worried about his safety, but she's proud that he's doing it.
