Hmmm, I'm not seeing it there...

Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I think it was one of the TV threads.
I went to the local 7-Eleven to get a drink. A guy who's started there recently, who's probably young enough to be my son, said "3.99, sweetheart." He's said it to me before, but today was one irk too many. "I'm not your sweetheart," I said firmly as I ran my card. He pouted: "I'm just being friendly." "I'm still not your sweetheart." "I try to say it to all the women." "And I bet most of them are annoyed." I finished punching in my numbers, and he said, "Would you like your receipt, ma'am?" "No, thank you." The guy who had previously been in line, who had previously said something about getting out of the way for the young lady (me), was staring at me, utterly baffled. I just went on my way.
I'm sure I came off as unfriendly, but maybe an iota of thought will go through his head.
Um, is there something I should know about Rio?
Theo, the Rio many of us friended on facebook isn't our Rio but friend of hers.
Aha, I found it. On the Streaming thread.

I didn't realize that Facebook!Rio was not Buffista!Rio (what I assumed was that Buffista!Rio had 2 FB accounts; one with her real name for more work-related purposes, and one as "Rio" for jackassery). Interesting.
Hah! I was very confused for a bit and then decided to just let it roll. Am glad to know FB Rio so it's all good in the end.
Yeah, I realized it wasn't our Rio as soon as I saw her feed, but she's nice and posts great links and has a v. similar taste in music to me, so I call it a win.
I don't think I'm gonna make it to any festivities today. It's hot, leaving the house seems like a lot of trouble, and talking to people is completely unappealing. Maybe I'll wander down and see the fireworks if it cools down, maybe I'll see what I can see from my porch.
Have gotten more dishes washed and read several short stories, though, so that's good.
