Yeah, the thing that stops me from trying to have a civil conversation on FB is that I would be heartbroken to learn that any of my relatives, who are generally a pretty great bunch, were planning to vote for Trump.

um ... it's not something I talk about a lot, but I made a couple of suicide attempts when I was young - once when I was 16 and the first when I was 10. We always had pills around and I used them. I grew up without complications, but it sounds like your daughter's attempt was more serious than mine.
