Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Gud, all my ~ma.

um ... it's not something I talk about a lot, but I made a couple of suicide attempts when I was young - once when I was 16 and the first when I was 10. We always had pills around and I used them. I grew up without complications, but it sounds like your daughter's attempt was more serious than mine.

I just wanted to let you know that there can be life afterwards.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hugs, Toddson. I'm glad you're with us now.

Did we know that NASA has completely changed the astrological signs (that I don't believe in)? Apparently I'm now a Taurus instead of a Gemini. And there's a brand-new sign that's Ophiuchus, the snake-bearer, which I'm sure everyone will be able to spell without having to look it up.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Okay, technically, I guess it's not true. Which is good, because I liked being a Gemini.

I'm going to skip my swim. I'm wheezier than yesterday, and that was such a fight. It's rare for me not to want to be in the water, but right now? Nope.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Continued ~ma, Gud.

I've got a neuroatypical queer child. This is not the world I want for her.

Nope. I want Princess Tickybox to live in a world where we tell people like Donald Trump to fuck off and get bent.

Always Anti-fascist!

Even if he loses, clearly we're not there yet, but it is Step One.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm glad you came through the other side, Toddson.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Last week I had the best fish dinner of my life—char crusted striped marlin from Hawaii—at Bristol Seafood Grill in Creve Cour (a co-worker and I had business up there at a fulfillment co. correcting a printing error, and our hosts took us out for a night on the town). It inspired me to try and replicate the dish at home tonight while the flavors were still fresh in my mind.

While my results weren't nearly as good as the chef's (I had to substitute swordfish and I overshot the mark on cooking), I did hit in the ballpark of the targeted flavor profile and this was light years better than any fish I've cooked at home previously.
