I am glad to hear your daughter is doing better, Gud. Much continued ~ma to all of you
Tom, that is the story of my life. I've been trying to implement a "do the thing, don't overthink the thing" policy at work, but I have better days than others.
This is sometimes why theatre is great- there is a certain point at which you just have to do the thing, or the thing doesn't get done!
So, do you guys remember I told you I had an interview with the National Archives in London? It went really well! They offered me the job! Then, it seems I misunderstood the immigration question on the application. Although I was eligible to apply for the job, I am not eligible to work in the UK, and they are not able to sponsor me for a visa. So job offer was withdrawn! It's been a roller coaster of a week.
Oh my goodness! THat would give me a heart attack.
The newscaster from the local TV station that does the news for the radio station I listen to in the car was very carefully saying things like "They attacked each other" and "it seemed kind of even" and "there was a weird tone to the debate, Rosie O'Donnell was even mentioned!" Oh, and "polls are saying technically that Hillary won, but 27% called it for Trump." Yeah, technically. Sigh.
Gudanov, what a relief!
Sue, in your shoes I'd likely be gnawing a limb off to get there.
Okay! Watching clips of the debate. Want to punch him in his face. OTOH, almost worth it for seeing Hillary laugh in his face.
but 27% called it for Trump."
27% of, like, people? That sounds about right.
Sue, that totally sucks. I know UK immigration seems basically insane right now (I am sure you could get a visa to work in the US, but I know a bunch of people married to British citizens who are having immigration troubles.)
I'm now watching clips from last night's Daily Show, and Trevor Noah got offended on behalf of "third world country" airports. I do enjoy him.
Yeah, I don't watch TDS every night now that Jon Stewart is gone, but I really enjoyed Trevor Noah last night.
One of these days I'm going to have to binge watch his stuff.
I feel like I should report that I was going to go to Raley's for mayonnaise (that I thought I needed for the deviled eggs, but since my hard-boiled eggs were neither hard nor boiled, I didn't even need to do that. If only I had known!) but Waze told me Trader Joe's was 0 minutes out of my way, so I went there and bought a grocery bag of pumpkin spice stuff (granola, O's, coconut body butter. I love the seasonally scented body butter, possibly my favorite pumpkin product). Frugality fail.
