Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sounds nummy, Dana.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My car won't start. AAA is on the way, after I paid them my overdue membership fee... oops.

And...the cat made a hyuj barf...and I'm out of paper towels.

Come on, AAA truck. It's been 45 minutes and I know where you are, you're 10 minutes away.

It's a gorgeous day and I feel like crap. Things that will not be happening: enjoying the weather and cleaning house. Thing that will be happening: couch lying and blowing my nose until it's chapped. Sigh.

That sounds so great, sj!

Mmm, pork pies.

It is a cool, cloudy, breezy day and later it will rain. Lovely. I've opened all the windows.

Jealous. We're looking at a high of 102. Which might mean it's a good day to go see Magnificent Seven...

I wish I had a sitter so we could go see a movie.

Aw, sarameg, that bites.

Maybe I will drop in for a flu shot while I am out and about. They'll be available at work, but not for a couple of weeks. There's no benefit to getting two, I assume.

brillig

For the second year in a row, I need to replace my windshield because the bosses thought putting a sand volleyball pit next to the parking lots was a great idea. Seems no one realized that a mountainside gets high winds during big storms, and high winds pick up sand and blasts it through said parking lots. I had to scrape off a layer a mud after last week's big storm, and I didn't realize how pitted my windshield was because it was two days before the clouds cleared enough for the sun to hit my windshield at the right angle. So until Thursday, when I can get in to replace it, I'll be avoiding driving into the sun at sunset and sunrise. (The cost is below my insurance deductible.)

I have sent an email to my department manager. I didn't say I wanted compensation--I'm hoping they'll realize it's the right thing to do--but I did say the pit was a hazard.

Yikes, I don't like you driving for so long with that kind of a hazard! Be careful.

And maybe a car cover would be a good idea? Or some kind of car blindfold thing to cover the windshield while you're at work. Tarp and a bungee cord, tuck it into the doors, that might work.

A moving blanket might work. I know some of mine are just the right size for a windshield.

Hit the point where I blow my nose and both my ear and tear ducts on that side gurgle. It's rather disgusting.
