Own that ice cube!

I wrote a poem that included the line "we order our sushi with wine on the rocks" when I was in high school, and I remain proprietarily fond of the concept.

I'm drinking a cab, btw. It's kind of meh - not bad, but not terrific.

Base was deceptively wide. And I have a pretty high tolerance (which is weird in its own way. VV is lower alcohol, but even twice that, I mighta graduated to tipsy. Maybe.)

All right, I just finished a learning module in my Professional Certification course, so this means I can make a gin and tonic and watch TV.

Dang. That's a big-ass glass.

Big Carl Sagan.

Brava, shrift!

The dog-sitter (my niece, who is building a pretty good sideline in house-sitting) left a small portion of mocha chip ice cream in the freezer, so that was dessert. OTOH, she also didn't run the dishwasher, didn't put out the garbage, didn't bring in the mail, and did a surprisingly poor job washing the pots she'd used. I had to rewash three of them.

Yay for the ice cream, anyway.

Now I shall return to my regularly-scheduled GBBO. (I may try to make a Bakewell Tart this weekend, it looks pretty simple.)

Woo shrift!

Nice one, Matt. I do like a multi-source reference, and that's a beauty.

Yay ice cream? I will forebear to criticize the niece's professionalism. And have a cupcake.

mmm, cupcakes.

More GBBO: apparently Paul Hollywood has never experienced the brilliance that is banana and peanut butter together. WTF.

I have a cold. Damnit.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have no respect for Paul Hollywood's opinions about some things. Like all American desserts.

Thrive to spite them

The American pie thing was frustrating. Lots of American pies are double crusts and people doNT decorate single crust pies that much . At least in my experience.
