That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Hooray for muumuus at work!

Indeed! Perhaps we all need office muumuus to go with our office tiaras.

If I were sending out a reminder today about an event that is next Tuesday and has a deadline for entry of tomorrow, I would mention the deadline tomorrow in my reminder email. That seems like the important piece of information to convey today.

Miss Kitty has having a harder and harder time controlling her hind legs. The vet said it is arthritis in her hips AND legs. At this point, as long as she seems content, I'm trying not to worry.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Went to the dentist, and they say I need a crown.(Apparently there are cracks in the other side of the tooth.) Got an appointment to get that done Wed. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to get up at stupid o'clock for it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have stayed late and done onerous things. I think I may need pancakes for dinner.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Yeah, Kato is having more difficulty getting up from the floor, even with regular meds. There's no circumstance in which I'll be happy to put him to sleep, but doing it for mobility issues seems worse to me somehow than doing it for disease. We're also becoming pros at finding things to mix in with his food to get him to eat, since it's pretty normal for senior dogs to not have a great appetite, in part because their sense of smell isn't as good as it used to be.

Kato's deal is that he goes through cycles of LOVING something we mix in with his food (canned food, cottage cheese, chicken broth, cooked shredded chicken, grated parmesan cheese [edit: not all together; one at a time, or chicken broth with the parmesan cheese]) for a few weeks and then deciding he's not into it any more, so we have to come up with something else. But eventually we can cycle back, because he's been eating canned food mixed in with his regular food again lately.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It's hard to watch loved pets get old.

Well, I have a lot of the closet stuff resolved, but there are a lot of Dad's papers to look through. Still, I got a lot done. And I was able to do a fair bit of it with Gross Point Blank on in the background. And now Lost Boys are on. It's nostalgia night at the Calli household.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I went to a work-related cocktail party and did very well! And left at the first possible opportunity. Perfect.

Way to go, Calli!

Costume changes, -t?

Yes, changed twice during the thing. No one who wasn't sitting with me remarked on it (except one person told me I had on a pretty dress after the first change and someone else complimented the third outfit (2nd muumuu) but I don't think either of those people noticed that I had been wearing something else earlier), but it amused my department. And one of my coworkers JUST noticed the blue hair today. It is pretty subtle, but her gasp of amazement was pretty funny considering how often I talk to her, but it took the light hitting just right I guess.
