I fed off a flowerperson, and I spent the next six hours watchin' my hand move.

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

I would like to wear a muumuu to work and see if anyone notices. It's that kind of workplace.

Nice.

I think I will wear the aloha dress and bring the two muumuus in case I want to change or one of my coworkers could use one.

Ha! Well, maybe that will happen.

Wait, I didn't realize the non-muumuu option was an aloha dress! I too vote costume changes!!

Crossing my fingers the meeting I have in half an hour is (a) productive and (b) not a cluster--the other folks invited some bigwigs, which makes me think it's less "how do we fix X problem" and more "explain why X was a problem in the first place and placate us on how it won't be one in the future" (the answers are "it was mostly your fault and I can't promise that", which they won't like)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I talked to my shrink. He prescribed additional anti-anxiety meds to get me through the election season. Feeling better about that.

My hand was shaking earlier, for the first time in six months.

I hope the meds help, tommyrot. That's no good.

more "explain why X was a problem in the first place and placate us on how it won't be one in the future" (the answers are "it was mostly your fault and I can't promise that", which they won't like)

Oh my god I hate both aspects of that with such a fiery passion. I don't mind the fixing the problem and I actively like figuring out how to make the problem not happen in the future, but when the answer is "make someone else do what they say they will do" as is so often the case it makes me so mad!

OK, I think I'm committed to the costume changes. If anyone does notice I will point out that my wardrobe requires a more Hawaiian clothes friendly dress code. I have mentioned before, I think, that even my professional wardrobe but definitely my business casual stuff leans heavily towards resort wear.

Tommy, that makes perfect sense. I need to remember to tap into my anti-anxiety meds more. I've been feeling so much better mentally, that I've thought about reducing my anti-depressants. But until this election is over, I don't want to mess with the good mix of chemicals.

Remember how I stressed over having a cleaning service come once a month? They are here today and it is so nice knowing my house will be sparkling while I work on the back porch. I'm going to have to come up with a plan B once the weather cools down, for both me and Jack.
