Angel: Yeah, I never told anyone about this, but I-I liked your poems. Spike: You like Barry Manilow.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

WS, I'm really sorry about all that. It's not fair and not right.

I wish I could communicate honestly to my Society liaison just how not-excited I am about the special 50th anniversary cover. All I can think about is how difficult it'll be for me to get it done. It shouldn't be difficult, of course, but it will be.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I thought I could wear these shoes with no socks, but that turned out not to be the case by the time I got to work, so I went to Walgreen's. The socks I picked were not only large size, they rang up at 69 cents! I'm taking that as a good omen.

Next I have to go read an email that probably says my work is garbage, but at least I got cheap socks!

I also saw a good production of Company last night at the local theater, which was fun, but I am extra tired today. AND I have dinner plans tonight! Why so much fun, life?? I just want to watch TV.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Thanks, Zen. I wish you non-difficulty with the special anniversary cover.

Pffl to that email, Jesse.

Ha HA! The email did not say my work was garbage, and did have constructive feedback. (It is still possible the person emailed my boss to tell him my work was garbage. She is tricksy.) (My work is not garbage.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Everything's coming up Jesse.

That's awful, Windsparrow! I'm so sorry.

I just want to be able to sleep until sunrise. That doesn't seem unreasonable.

Well, if sunrise would stop moving around, it wouldn't be such a problem.

Zenkitty, I'd also be happy to email a bit with your niece. I've worked in a public library and am now in a school library. I definitely echo flea about how it's even more important for a librarian to like people than to like books. Unless she wants to do something very specific and back-room-y like archives work or cataloging (and I don't think there are a ton of job postings for those types of positions), most library jobs involve a lot of customer service and outreach. Getting to know your patrons and your community, building relationships with them, and learning what they need and how to serve them best, is really at the forefront of librarianship, at least in my experience.

Had more to say, but the baby was up for 2 solid hours in the night and I cannot brane anymore. (At least she doesn't do this very often? And I'm no martyr, M took her for the second hour and was the one to finally get her back to sleep successfully, but still, we are all running on empty today.)

Thanks, Kate. I'll pass along the info and the offer. She seems interested in this career path for real, for a change, and I'm hoping it sticks.
