Bad: I am in the loser terminal with no concessions and non-functional bathrooms. Good: I got waved to the precheck line. Bad: I still had to take off my shoes, have my hands swiped, and my bag searched. Good: I am at the gate with plenty of time and the prospect of margaritas with shrift tonight.

When I came home from Vegas, I had to go through the long lines, but I didn't have to take off my shoes or have anything done with my hands. My bag just went through the scanner.
My last trip I had people in the security line, both in Denver and in Salt Lake, comment on how "I knew what I was doing". Ummm, taking my shoes off, pulling out my computer and liquids, and emptying my pockets? Yes, such talent and knowledge needed.
Can you get TSA Precheck status if you don't have a passport?

I'm confused by how often I see people who are shocked, SHOCKED by the regulations. I feel like, even if you haven't flown since 9/11, haven't you heard that there are crazy rules now? And maybe looked into what they are?
