I suspect because the guy who's in charge of our office tech support heard all the cool kids were doing it.
Oh, god, I think that's what drives a lot of our developers, too. "The Cloud! It's the next big thing! Our customers will love it, and if they don't they're just behind the times and not cool like us!" Never mind the fact that a lot of our customers work in rural areas with spotty-to-nonexistent Internet connection. But tell this to the develolpers, and they all get this look of "Who doesn't have good Internet? Why kind of yahoos are we dealing with? Tell them to update their systems and leave us alone."
Everyone loves the cloud! It's so... secure? or reliable?? or something else good?????
I did love taking tennis for gym in high school, but not to the exclusion of graduation requirements.
I would have loved tennis for gym if it had been an option in high school. I also would have enjoyed a fine art class of some sort.
Don't forget cheap.
And scalable! That's another word that makes tech execs giddy.
Yeah, he has NEVER played tennis. I have no idea what he is on about, but he will be playing for at least one trimester. Highschool, unlike all other schools in the district, is on a trimester system. I have his schedule, we have orientation Thurs night, and he will never do anything official at school without me again. All the support staff are so excited to meet him now.
I don't remember parents being involved in the high school scheduling process. We filled them out at the end of the school year for the entire next year. However, the guidance counselors were and wouldn't have allowed us to not sign up for something we needed in order to graduate.
