On the bright side, somehow I ended up with a corner desk with windows and a great view. There was some trauma but also excellent tacos for lunch, so I guess it's not all bad.
Spiff! I think you win.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I can see mountains from my desk! I'm now testing out my evening commute home from the new office.
Trauma tacos does not sound excellent (that's how I first read that).
The tacos were a beefy balm, and not traumatic at all.

Tacos can cure anything! (Except, I suppose, food poisoning.)
I did my Skype interview today and it was fine, but not the best interview I've ever had. In fact, not as good as the last two I did. So I am feeling meh. Also, it is somehow actually harder to interview when you've met 5 of the 6 people on the search committee, and have known one of them for 20 years.

Window mountains are very nice. How far away are yours?
Tomorrow we fly to Kansas City for WorldCon!
Have fun! I work not far from the convention center. I'll marvel at the crowds from a safe distance.
Wait, is that Maleficent? Google image search says no. Snow White's stepmother, I guess. Does she have a name?
Technically she was conceived as Queen Grimhilde by the animators (though not named as such in the film), but I think we can all agree she was actually Uta von Ballenstedt. Guess Margrave Eckard II wasn't fond of apples.
Not sure how far. Maybe 20 miles?

I can believe that. That would be weird. I'm sorry you feel meh about it.
Yay mountains!
I'm having a very adult dinner of corn dog + french fries, possibly with ice cream to follow.
In my new office, I will not have nearly the bucolic, verdant view, but I also will have a corner office on the top (4th) with 3 tall windows facing north & west, and two officemates who telework 3 days a week. I'll mostly have it to myself. And one of the new officemates is committed to plants in all windows, but I won't be responsible for them. And we're over a MOMs Organic Market and a short walk to the Avenue in Hampden and one of my go to booze stores. The one big drawback is losing my inside track to our sysadmin, my current officemate. I learn so much! OTOH, new ones are our testers and developers, so that's still good. I lobbied hard to be put in a mixed room.
