Gwen: Demon, OK? The whole nine—cloven feet and horns and teeth. He wasn't wearing lamé though. Lorne: Yeah, the evil ones can't pull it off. It gets camp.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Also, it is somehow actually harder to interview when you've met 5 of the 6 people on the search committee, and have known one of them for 20 years.

I can believe that. That would be weird. I'm sorry you feel meh about it.

Yay mountains!

I'm having a very adult dinner of corn dog + french fries, possibly with ice cream to follow.

In my new office, I will not have nearly the bucolic, verdant view, but I also will have a corner office on the top (4th) with 3 tall windows facing north & west, and two officemates who telework 3 days a week. I'll mostly have it to myself. And one of the new officemates is committed to plants in all windows, but I won't be responsible for them. And we're over a MOMs Organic Market and a short walk to the Avenue in Hampden and one of my go to booze stores. The one big drawback is losing my inside track to our sysadmin, my current officemate. I learn so much! OTOH, new ones are our testers and developers, so that's still good. I lobbied hard to be put in a mixed room.

That's sounds very good, sarameg!

That sounds promising, sarameg! Are you still happy with the new contract stuff?

The tacos were a beefy balm, and not traumatic at all.

Tacos can cure anything! (Except, I suppose, food poisoning.)

Perhaps trauma tacos are actually meant to help RELIEVE trauma. Those would be good tacos. (Mmm, tacos. Though actually what i want is to try the new BREAKFAST tacos that a new nearby restaurant/walk up window place has)

And ffs, my parents can't phone. I call them, they don't answer. They call back but I've got my hands full and can't answer before they hang up. But now I'm going straight to vmail, and I'm pretty sure it's because my dad didn't hang up the phone. Not the first time.

Meara, yes. Work is a clusterfuck, but that's the work, not the employment.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Technically she was conceived as Queen Grimhilde by the animators (though not named as such in the film), but I think we can all agree she was actually Uta von Ballenstedt.

I love that sculpture of Uta and Eckhard. I always thought she looked a bit shy.

Yay for a corner office with a view of the mountains, shrift!

I have been cranky and pissy all day. Not really depressed, just angry about stuff I don't like and how hard it will be to change it.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I started watching S3 of AHS this weekend and was surprised to find both the leads of my current show at work in ep 3 tonight.

In related news, assigning crew to a Vanity Fair shoot has become part of my life.

Well that sounds intriguing...

I have been cranky and pissy all day. Not really depressed, just angry about stuff I don't like and how hard it will be to change it.

Hugs. I have been feeling that (and depressed) lately. I think it's because I've been doing weights rather than running, and it doesn't give me the same endorphins (and my anti-depressant doesn't do enough, on its own). Also the job is really starting to kick in and require more time and effort, and micromanaging. :(

What is even happening?

Awww, thanks, Cindy. I have to say that (so far) the results with Emmett and Matilda have been encouraging. I should send you some new pictures of them.

For those of you who follow along on FB, you know that Matilda got her ears pierced this week. What I didn't mention there is that we wound up having some complications with the piercings. They were really hurting her and the sharp ends of the posts were jabbing into her neck when she slept, and the backings were pinching and tight.

How are Matilda's piercings working out, now, Hec? (JZ)
