Steph, don't feel bad for feeling uncomfortable with her, she sounds super awkward and weird, and you're an introvert; even if she's just trying to be friendly, she's a bit much.

You'd think it would be hard to still dislike someone that is your fan(and, yeah, even so I probably give more BOTD, but still, as someone who somewhat routinely gets called "so brave," and "Amazing" for reasons that are hard for me to accept, it's totally possible. Have been on both ends of the who likes whom more thing, though.

It's been a while, but I've definitely had acquaintances declare that I'm their only friend in the world. It's weird and too much of a burden, and I never know how to react when it happens. I don't think you need to apologize for how she made you feel.

It sounds like you are picking up on something that she's telegraphing, hence your discomfort. She seems like she has bad boundaries, or at least gives off the appearance of having bad boundaries. I am usually cautious around people who seem to push for too much intimacy too quickly.

Actually, I get it . I have a surface friend - and another friend and I were trying to figure out why it is staying there. We decided she is just a little desperate (possibly due to her current living situation)and it makes things awkward. So You have that times about 100. (seriously, if she wanted to hang with you she could have chosen a rib and asked if you were watching the olympics)

Another milestone- yesterday we got the little guy his first pair of shoes. (He's not walking yet, but they do take the kids outside to play at daycare.) Right now he is at the neighborhood pool with Gary and my MIL.

Officially too warm inside to clean. Even if the cat hair is out of control.

Swam outside at Druid. And OF COURSE I ran into John, a fav lifeguard from my pool who also swims laps.Waiting to see how much of a burn develops, if any. I do love that pool, but my Y is just too convenient.
