ION, Cindy!!! It is so good to see you around.
Maria! I had a whole thing to say to you, but then I skimmed the rest of the board and my brain went numb. That said, I think you're right about nearly everything. Sorry you've been through what you have. Glad you are telling it to us straight.
Also, Teppy? You're dead right.
Also, Teppy? You're dead right.
I like the sound of that! Which thing, though? Sometimes I am a crackpot.
Aw, meara, I'm sorry. You can still make plans for tomorrow and Sunday, yes?
I am having an Icelandic Arctic Berry Ale because I happen to have one right here. I'm liking it, but I imagine not everyone would.
The linen closet in my house has been full of decades old videotapes, because my beloved was a hoarder. Videotapes are fucking heavy, but all I have to do is get them into garbage bags and haul them to the back of the truck FauxSon left for me to fill for a trip to the dump next week. So damned heavy. Such stupid things to have held on to.
That sounds intriguing, -t.
I am going to a college alum event tomorrow in Dallas. I have never gone to one of these and you all know how am I about meeting new people. deep breaths.
White ale brewed with bilberries, apparently. Berrylicious.
I hope it is fun, msbelle!
When we moved, I threw out, among other tapes, the videotape of Earshot that came through the tape tree that Dana was part of--I think that's how I first "met" Dana, although I could be wrong on that. It was a moment, but I let it go. Helped along by the fact that we no longer own a VCR.
The one tape I regret tossing was the mumblety-th Rocky Horror anniversary show, when ASH sang Frankenfurter and Amber Bensen sang Janet. I've found those clips, and other performances. The one on the tape I've been unable to find anywhere else was of Eric McCormack doing a dead-on impersonation of Curry as Frank.
But even if I had it, I still have no way to play it--and it would be degraded horribly by now.
During the original run of Buffy and Angel, I recorded every episode, obsessively. After one tape got messed up, I started recording every one in duplicate. Every single episode. Then I started taping every episode of other shows I liked. X-Files, The Sentinel, Lost, I don't even remember. I kept the VCR tapes in boxes in my living room. And I never watched them again. I watched reruns when they came on, and sometimes I taped those too, but I never watched any of those tapes. A couple years ago I realized I was insane and threw them all out. I kept the ones that never came out on DVD, like The Inside, but I should ditch those too, they're probably so degraded they're unwatchable. What a waste of time and money.
