They should film that story and show it every Christmas.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sorry about the no good morning, Maria. I hope the print wasn't damaged, and best of luck at the restaurant.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Thanks, Matt! That would probably make it lighter too, since the frame is metal.

In the grand scheme of things, this is nothing. No one got hurt. I'm just cranky for lack of sleep, and I suppose yet another piece of my past that's broken.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, Maria. Lack of sleep doesn't help anything.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Is that the non-glare acrylic, Matt? That's what I was going to suggest. Sorry about your glass-everywhere, Maria, and your crazy work schedule and everything. Some days you want to bite peoples' faces off and you have to smile instead. It's very stressful.

I'm melting down, personally. The burnout is reaching untenable proportions. I'm gonna have a talk with my boss today about moving some work around.

2d cup of coffee:

Thanks, sj! This whole week at the restaurant is going to be interesting. National Night Out is tonight, with a festival in one of the town parks and block parties afterwards, then tomorrow starts the sesquicentennial celebration for the town, which runs through Saturday. Parades and entertainment in the town square, which means a lot of people. And since we're right off of the square....

HAHAHAHAH. Truer words were never spoken.

Yes, yes it is. I'm not that far away from homicide either. It'll just take that one person to tip me over the edge.

I'm gonna have a talk with my boss today about moving some work around.

I'm sorry you're at breaking point. Shifting work sounds like a fine idea.

brillig

50% of cataract patients develop scar tissue after their surgery, which affects their version. I think I'm definitely in that range. Fortunately, I have an eye appointment this Friday, so I think I have a ten-minute date with a laser in my near future.

Wow, Kat and msbelle both have busy schedules!

I mostly took yesterday to recover from last week's work madness. I mean, I got some stuff done, but quit two hours early. Today, more low key stuff (I hope), tomorrow back on a plane.

Am a little concerned because they finally scheduled my interview...for 8:15AM the day after I get back from a trip late at night. Boo. But it's been such a process to schedule that I don't think I can't ask to move it--especially since I'm on the west coast, so early stuff is hard
