Sadly the peaches I bought Saturday morning were all mushy and rotten by Sunday evening when I first went to eat one. I can't blame the vendor though, I picked the basket I wanted and they all looked and felt perfect at the time.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Fivethirtyeight's now-cast is a thing of beauty. (And the polls and polls-plus forecasts are pretty damn good, too.) Can we just have the election now please?

Wow. In the now-cast, Hilary has made up all the ground she lost starting in mid July, and then some.

Ugh, and so it begins--the Blue Angels are practicing for this weekend's show, and it is so loud and adrenaline-making. It's fine if I'm watching the show, but when it's just suddenly "aaaaah super loud airplane noise coming at me!" Out of nowhere?? Hate.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

NPR's Lourdes Garcia-Navarro is now calling herself Lulu Garcia-Navarro, and sure, I guess she has the right to call herself what she wants, but it confuses and disturbs me.

I hope Ofeibea Quist-Arcton doesn't change. And keeps reporting from Dakar.

Someone on the YT channel "Eliza Maire" is posting Hamilton clips, if that's the thing anyone would be interested in. I'm sure they get taken down quickly...

Lulu? That seems...odd. I mean, fine to go by for your friends, but professionally, especially when you're already known by Lourdes?

A former coworker just invited me to visit her in Wilmington, and I was thinking of how to get there...and realized I was still thinking of Flea and Smonster as being in North Carolina. Which they have not been for years and years, and I've *visited* them in other places, and still...apparently y'all are fixed in my mind in the first place I knew you, and also probably as 15 years younger.

Cool, 2002 me was in good shape!

Her fellow NPR people have always called her "Lulu" when speaking to her in stories so it doesn't seem weird to me.

Our wings are not tired.

I trained 2 of my doctors yesterday. The first one has a picture of himself with Trump at some Palm Beach event taped on the door to his office. He normally has Fox News playing on the wall mounted tv in his office, but I arrived before he did so it wasn't on yet. As with our prior meetings I never glanced in the direction of his door or mentioned anything. The second doc was bemoaning the fact that universal healthcare wouldn't happen in his lifetime because insurance companies are too greedy. I didn't bother to hide the Hillary sticker I have on the back of my phone case with him because he has been really open about his lefty leaning in the past. I would say 75% of my customer doctors are Republicans, but I am super proficient at answering questions in a non political manner. Now if they ask straight out I am not going to lie, and when they blame all the electronic medical records stuff on Obama I do remind them it was Bush. But when a customer has a smiley face picture of him and The Donald taped to his door I know how to stay far far away from chit chat.
