I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

One guy on a friend's page was all, "YOUR FEAR MONGERING TACTICS WILL NOT WORK ON ME," and I pointed out how nice it must be to face fear on a facebook post instead of in your daily life, as it is and would be more so for women, minorities, LGBTQ folks, immigrants, and the disabled.

He said, "you don't know me."

I didn't respond, but I was definitely relieved at the truth of that.

Also, on a separate post, a beer dude is mansplaining why it's dumb to have raised hackles at beers brewed/marketed for women.

I can't even with today.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I feel a little embarrassed: I didn't know all that stuff about Hillary's early career before he got elected. I'm way more excited and impressed by her now -- and it wasn't as though I thought she was unqualified before!

Don't feel bad, I've lived in Arkansas all this time and didn't know a lot of it. I think part of it is that at the time they didn't make a big deal about efforts she spearheaded to avoid accusations of nepotism and local conservatives making a stink about a woman overstepping her place. Hillary took a lot of heat from Bill's opponents in the 80s for not being a Donna Reed-style housewife. And getting the job done was more important than getting credit for it, which is perhaps the most basic and essential difference between Clinton and Trump.

Coding and Sleeping

Have a meeting with my boss this afternoon. Sounds like I may be getting a minion for a little while.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay Minions!

Political conventions should end, I need my sleep cycle reset.

This! I normally go to bed at 10 and am just not able to sleep in to make up for lost time.

So I went to a viewing party with a whole bunch of strangers! It was great. Part was to see the inside of a house I have long admired, and part was to party with like minded Dems. It was great. Met a bunch of nice people. We were all trying to reassure ourselves that the Florida predictions were not accurate. It is hard for us to fathom that a state with such diversity and a high percentage of immigrants could possible go Trump. But then our host reminded us they voted for Gov. Scott. So I will likely be joining neighbors on campaign stuff.

One of the women was a professor at a medical university in the 90s and worked with Clinton on the healthcare program. She was in her 80s and a serious activist.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Holly shit.

Donald Trump Challenges Russia to Find Hillary Clinton's Missing Emails

Mr. Trump's call was an extraordinary moment at a time when Russia is being accused of meddling in the U.S. presidential election. His comments came amid questions about the hacking of the Democratic National Committee's computer servers, which researchers have concluded was likely the work of two Russian intelligence agencies.

So Trump is actually calling on Russia to hack Hillary's emails. This after strong evidence it was Russia who leaked the DNC's emails in order to help Trump.

wtff?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Also, an all white production of "The Wiz" is weird, right?

Yes.

Not just weird. Downright "wtf how did no one say something to the producers/directors to stop them because Jesus"

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Not just weird. Downright "wtf how did no one say something to the producers/directors to stop them because Jesus"

That's what I thought! The next town over from my home town is doing it-- I think they are just too white to realize.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes, Sophia. Just yikes.

I would like to commend smonster for having a decent conversation with a former coworker of mine who I didn't realize is a Bernie or Buster, apparently! I missed the whole thing, but might have flipped out way sooner.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Also, an all white production of "The Wiz" is weird, right?

Wasn't that the original--The Wizard of Oz? Why not just do that?

So Trump is actually calling on Russia to hack Hillary's emails.

Wait, the ones from when she was Secretary of State? The ones whose alleged insecurity meant that HRC was a traitor, so Trump's veterans affairs advisor suggested she be hung? Trump is advocating the treason that his minions are accusing HRC of?!?!?! I know logic isn't his strong suit, but day-um. Also, when did cozying up to Russian dictators become a Republican value?
