I'm with family, Strix. I'm good, thanks.

Good! I hope you feel better.
Thank you. I think I'm going upstairs in search of cracker type food.
Yikes, aurelia - take care!
Good thing I came home when I did -- I turned on the TV to a storm warning and the wind is picking up outside.
Ugh, Aurelia. Feel better.
Strix, put all of that over some vanilla ice cream and you have one of my favorite summer desserts.
Ah, summer, when 92 degrees in the shade feels pretty good, especially with a light breeze, and I can cheerfully tell myself that "No, that's not an incipient panic attack while I'm driving down the freeway, that's just an incipient asthma attack from the smoke in the air! Much more reassuring."
edit: Really, it was reassuring, I actually felt cheered up. "No, I'm not going nuts, it's just my crappy lungs!"
Sorry you're feeling so rough, Aurelia. Feel better quick!
We went to the surprise birthday party for the fellow I mentioned who has anxiety, whose girlfriend said she had no idea how he feels about surprise parties (but went ahead and planned a party with 25 people anyway).
He was...not okay. But he's a good guy, so he pushed through and tried to put his best face on it. By the end of dinner (and after several shots of tequila), he had chilled out somewhat.
Man, I know his GF had the best of intentions, but, hell, if you know your BF has severe anxiety, maybe test the waters and see how he feels about surprise parties before just throwing one and hoping for the best. Daaaaang.
I've been okay with saltines and applesauce tonight, so things are looking up. I still think I'll delay the drive a day.
