Monday morning commute. It's been raining steadily for hours. One of these things is glorious. The other thing is going to have me taking the non-freeway route to work, because I live among morons.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
'suela, I have no useful advice for the kitchen color dilemma. I'm horrible at making up my mind.
Ugh, sara. I'm sorry you can't just get your shoes.
-t, going way back to the sample sale: I'm looking for the smaller prep bowls that you would use for chopped vegetables, spices, herbs, etc. I've been using my soup bowls, and they're too big. Ramekin-sized sounds about right.
I had a productive weekend of sorts. I helped my FIL put up a huge sign for a new housing development, I mowed, I visited my recovering grandmother, and I built a nice sturdy bookshelf for my wife out of 3/4" solid pine so it won't bend under the weight of textbooks.
I also posted to my blog which hasn't happened in a long time.
It's about my attempt to find information on presidential candidate's stand on the issues from their websites.
I feel like I should send an email to the office that Wednesday is my last day here, but I don't really want to. Most of the people I'd go to a happy hour with are in Florida this week for an off-site I'm not going for obvious reasons.
Hello!
I was on vacation last week, and went on a lot of day trips-- I got to see animals almost every day (zoo, history museum, humane society petting zoo, picking my godson up from 4-H camp) and I went to see a Pyrex exhibit at Corning Museum of Glass.
I had a good week, but I woke up Saturday with a full body rash like I have had before and I washed my iphone in the washing machine, which was less good.
Now I am at work, and I think too much claritin is making me sleeping (though less itchy).
Oh Sophia, feel better soon.
New window installation has begun. K-Bug, Jack, and I are on the back porch trying to stay out of the installer's way and trying to keep Jack's barking to a minimum. Tomorrow they install the new patio door, so he will be off to doggie day care for that.
I had a mild freak out last night over the cost of the windows and having them be a reality. We will still have 3 more windows to replace - I just couldn't afford to do them all at the same time.
Sweet, Maria, I saw a lot of those. How many do you want and do you have a preference for color? Probably 50 cents each.
You could just send out a Goodbye Email on Wednesday, shrift. People do that here pretty often.
Yay vacation, boo rash and washed iphone!
Clean underwear status - I have enough to get through the week. I hope I didn't keep anyone up worrying about it.
Oh, hell, I don't think I put the waffle batter back in the fridge this morning. Oops.

Oh wow, that's super cheap! How about 10? Color-wise? I don't think it really matters. My dishes are all white, my mixing bowls are stainless steel, my appliances are stainless steel, and the kitchen decor is neutral Tuscan farmhouse. Lots of grapes and pig accents.
As for the chopping block/wood cutting board, I'm looking for at least 12 x 12, but larger is better. I've seen a few over-sink ones, but they've been super expensive.
Thank you so much!
Sophia, I hope the rash is better. Did you put the phone in rice?
So I spent half the weekend feeling sick about a thing I screwed up last week, and how I was going to get a Talking To from my boss about it this morning. Somehow by the time I got here, I had figured out a relatively strong way to present myself, and was feeling pretty good about it. Then something in my boss's attitude made me go all-in, and I just said something about learning for next time, which she totally took. I didn't have to prostrate myself at all!
So of course then she told me she's leaving in September. I figured she would be following the grandboss to his new job (as she followed him here), but I didn't think it would be so fast! So that's a lot.
But at least I'm not in trouble.
Not in trouble is good.
