I just got an e-mail about a sweepstakes offering a big trip to Great Britain as a prize. You know, a few months ago I'd have been all "sign me up!" but now I'm thinking I can get craziness, violent bigotry, and incompetent politicians at home.
Natter 74: Ready or Not

Home from the beach. The drive was interesting -- North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky are places where people fly the Confederate flag unironically, AND YET we didn't see a single Trump sign. That gives me some hope.
Yay game night msbelle!!
I went to a friend's new house party (she moved in with some other folks, one I already knew). Had drinks with a different friend first, then to the house party together. Good times. Pretty chill, and didn't stay late/long, but it was nice to see people. Also, dragged myself to the gym today and am proud.
Yay friends, and margaritas, and wine, and parties!
AND YET we didn't see a single Trump sign.
Woo! Not the case on the west coast of Florida. But I hold out hope that these are the minority.
Up early to get some work done since none was accomplished yesterday. Mom looked better last night. She is recovering on the Cardiac floor because of her significant A-Fib. I have confidence in her doctor and her hospital so we'll see. They did make her get up and use the potty chair. Since she already has pneumonia staying in bed isn't allowed. Easier said than done with abdominal surgery, but she did it. Go Mom!
Yay friends, and margaritas, and wine, and parties!
What she said!
I was going to go to the beach today, but it turns out to be the one day that is NOT a perfect beach day - cloudy and 70s. WTF? It's 90s and sunny yesterday AND tomorrow!
Yay friends, and margaritas, and wine, and parties!
Seconding the yay! That sounds promising, msbelle.
OK, the weather than makes it Not a Beach Day means that I could actually go for a long walk, possibly to Target. I guess that's a plan.

I haven't seen any Trump signs around here, except for a couple defiant little bumperstickers. Granted, I'm in a liberal blue dot on the Virginia map, but even when I head into the rural areas where you'd think Trumpists would be, there are no signs.
Now I want to go drive around and pay attention to it, to make sure I haven't been a victim of selective vision.
I see a fair number of Trump signs. Saw a huge one hanging off an overpass.
After the free Kindle promotion my sales of Cog have flatlined. It's starting to feel like my agent submitting to editors at major publishers all over again; everybody seems to really like it but it never quite catches on. The reviews are fantastic so far.
Right now I'm trying to get it into local school libraries (of the appropriate age group) and line up reviews on blogs. Got four saying they will do reviews, but that will be awhile. That's hard too, lots of blogs that do book reviews, but most don't do any self-published.
